About Tate Street Primary School
Tate Street Primary School is located in East Geelong, Victoria. Built in 1929, with recent refurbishments in 2010, 2012 and 2015, our rich history and strong connections to our local community have resulted in us being a dynamic, respectful and cooperative learning environment for our primary students. We believe that "when you enrol a child, you enrol their whole family" and every member of our community is a learner, teacher and leader, enabling our students to have the tools and environment to not only achieve their personal best, but to also encourage others to do the same.
We pride ourselves on the quality and extent of our learning programs, with a focus on keeping our family communications thorough with our School Phone App and our Facebook page. Our new modern facilities are well-resourced with our extensive grounds including our stadium, external garden - enviro centre, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, netball court, and our indoor and outdoor performance stages enhancing our fantastic performing arts program. Our students actually performed for Prince Charles and Lady Camilla on their visit to us in 2012. We also perform at the 'Port Fairy Folk Festival' every year.
Our values incorporate responsibility, tolerance, honesty, confidence and creativity and the pursuit of excellence in all that we undertake.
In addition to our elected School Council, we have our Parents Club who work tirelessly to assist with regular or special occasion fund-raising, and also enjoy our regular social events with friends. They also help with school excursions and special days and are always looking for new friends to join the group!
