One change that troubles me deeply is the steady rise in crime. Crime affects us all. Crime strikes at the peaceful lives we try to build for our families. It violates our sense of peace and safety we seek in our neighborhoods, and it drives away businesses whose tax dollars make life better for us all.
Crime has taken a toll on Hinds County recently, but it doesn’t have to be that way. We can do better. The first step is a better leadership guiding the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office. Think about it. Without effective law enforcement, a community cannot thrive. And there is no doubt there has been a lack of good law enforcement leadership in Hinds County recently.
As a career law enforcement officer with more than 30 years experience, I know what it takes to fight crime and provide good law enforcement services to citizens of Hinds County.
