About The Silver Spoon
In May, 2006, Vera Oldham opened the doors of The Silver Spoon in downtown Walters as a lunch and dessert dining destination. Vera's popular catering business was also conducted from this lovely and historic building. The response to our offerings was overwhelming and gratifying.
In November of 2010, the former Johnson's Creamery building at 529 SW C Avenue, Lawton, OK, was purchased, and completely remodeled, to become the current location of this popular restaurant/bar, opening in August of 2011 in the center of downtown Lawton.
Featuring fresh, made-to-order lunch offerings, to include our popular potato soup and apple-almond chicken salad that drew initial customers in Walters, The Spoon expanded to include an evening menu. The best kept secret in Lawton remains our hand cut steaks which are grilled to order with proprietary seasonings. An extensive wine list and over 40 beers mark the upstairs lounge as a local gathering place for those wishing to have an adult beverage with lunch or round out an excellent evening meal with wine or beer. Port is offered to elevate the enjoyment of one of many from- scratch desserts. Live music each Friday and Saturday evening enhances the dining experience.
Recognized for four consecutive years by TripAdvisor, The Spoon proudly hosts many travelers passing through Lawton looking for comfortable surroundings and from scratch cooking, in a locally owned restaurant.
Catering, on and off site, continues to be a big part of our culinary business. The availability to rent the restaurant's Red Room for private gatherings remains a large part of our schedule.
We remain proud to be part of the historic original Lawton town site, occupying Lots 17 and 18!
Visit and enjoy comfort food, prepared with care and fresh ingredients, presented by caring servers, many of whom have been with The Spoon for many years.
