Sierra Forever Families

Sierra Forever Families is a private, non-profit agency that focuses on finding and nurturing permanent families for children living in foster care. Founded in 1983, the agency has provided permanent families for more than 3,000 children. Sierra believes that every child needs and deserves a permanent, loving family. Through the agency's innovative programs, it has become an industry leader known for advocating and finding homes for older children and large sibling groups.

Our Belief:
We believe that while some children might need temporary care; No child should grow up in temporary care. All children NEED a forever family to call their own.
We believe this because within two to four years of emancipating from foster care over 50%
Have not completed high school
Of girls are pregnant
Are homeless in prison or dead
These are the worst outcomes for any subset of youth and former foster youth now make up the largest users of homeless shelters in California.
