Mad Dogs and Englishmen is a quiet eclectic English pub and wine bar that was established in 1991 by Wilton Morley, son of the British actor Robert Morley, and Colonel Rick Craig of the U.S. Marines. Our name is attributed to Rudyard Kipling, who in 1899 first characterized the English abroad by saying “Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun".

Mad Dogs and Englishmen serves South Tampa with excellent food, both British and Global, and a wonderful variety of beers and wine from around the world. With an open-air outdoor patio that seats fifty; it is widely regarded as the best pub in Tampa, an award it has won on numerous occasions, as well as the best fish and chips. Mad Dogs and Englishmen is intimate, bohemian, eclectic, casual, British and great fun!
