LOC Mobile is LeMoyne-Owen College’s official smartphone app that helps you stay in the know on-the-go with information about our college and campus life. LOC is the only Historically Black College in Memphis, Tennessee. We have sustained a proud tradition of graduating leaders in science, business, the arts, politics, religion, law, and education since 1862. Historically Black Colleges and Universities have a culture and tradition all their own and LeMoyne-Owen College is no exception. Our students are integral members of the community who gain knowledge through hands-on experience and contribute to society through service learning opportunities. Our fraternities and sororities are comprised of scholars who not only excel in the classroom, but also in their efforts to make a difference on and off the campus. LeMoyne-Owen College is a four-year liberal arts institution that prepares students to become critical thinkers, lead productive and successful lives, and become contributors to their respective communities. Our College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the baccalaureate degree. Our beautifully landscaped campus features a new 336-bed residence hall alongside buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our accomplished faculty includes members from across the globe who are readily accessible and committed to teaching students in ways that best prepare them for rewarding careers. Our core curriculum emphasizes a multicultural education and is a national model designed to build student confidence. Students are challenged by a rigorous course of study in English communication, literature, African American history, humanities, business management, natural science, mathematics, social science, and public health—all while pursuing the requirements of his or her academic major. LOC is a founding member of the United Negro College Fund, making it an affordable option that offers a range of merit and need-based scholarships and financial aid. We also are the proud home of the Magicians, a group of student athletes who compete in ten NCAA Division II sports as part of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
