Heather Sophia

Heather Sophia is an award-winning meteorologist for WLBT and a college Lecturer. Sophia is no stranger to severe weather coverage. The Edward R. Murrow Award Winner covered the winter storm that crippled the Capital City, The Yazoo City Tornado and most recently the Tupelo/Louisville tornadoes. ​

In 2014, the Associated Press named Sophia the "Franchise Reporter of the Year" for her special weather lab feature reports. Her stories were viewed/shared more than 500 thousand times.

Sophia earned her under graduate degree and Master's Degree from Mississippi State University, where she currently serves as a lecturer.
