About Har Sinai
At Har Sinai Congregation, social action is a tradition that stretches back to the days of the Civil War, when Rabbi David Einhorn wrote and spoke of the evils of slavery. Today, we continue to work for social justice, a tenet of Reform Judaism.
Our vibrant Social Action Committee is involved in a wide range of activities. Projects such as the High Holiday food drive, One Can/One Community, Adopt-a-Road and Community Supported Agriculture benefit area residents. Others, including the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the One Family Fund for Israeli victims of terrorism and the anti-malaria program Nothing But Nets, reach around the nation and world. We also sponsor educational programs for members on topics such as world hunger and CPR training.
