Effra Social

The Effra Social was previously home to the local Conservative club from the late 1800’s until its closure in November 2012. The venue is now open to the general public for the first time in over 100 years. Proud to be a diverse space, Effra Social boasts a front bar, dance hall, dining room, garden and lots of nooks and crannies along the way. Though the walls are still lined with old memorabilia, Effra Social is no longer tied to its political past. It’s now simply a great place for a party, some high quality food or a dance in the main hall. Come on down to experience DJs and bands, one of Brixton’s most popular Quiz nights, book clubs, cinema clubs, comedy & poetry all of which fill the venue each week
