CHS Prep Exam for Android
Offering young people a challenging, value-centered education, the ten Long Island Catholic High Schools provide an outstanding experience combining rigorous academics, engaging extracurricular activities, and a strong foundation in faith. All located within the Diocese of Rockville Centre, in Nassau and Suffolk Counties of Long Island, the high schools present a wide range of exciting choices for each family considering a Catholic high school education.
While each school is unique, the value-centered focus of all the schools serves as the common thread that binds the educational experience of each student. Guided by talented and dedicated religious and lay teachers, a Catholic education helps each student to test abilities, add skills, build confidence, and develop his or her understanding of faith...all of which helps young people to embrace the challenges and responsibilities of life.
The Entrance Exam
Students who plan to apply to one or more Catholic high schools on Long Island must take the Catholic High School Entrance Examination. The exam is administered at all the Catholic High Schools on Saturday, October 31, 2015. The exam will be administered with accommodations at three of the schools on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 8:30AM for students applying for admission in the fall of 2016. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee. Students must register for the exam without accommodations by Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Walk-ins will be permitted on the day of the exam. There is an additional $15 late and walk-in fee. The preferred method of registration is on-line registration.
The CHS Exam Prep App
The CHS Exam Prep App familiarizes students with the format of the test, the structure and form of the questions and desired responses, and familiarizes students with concepts and questions from previous year’s tests, helping them to score well on the exam. It also includes summary descriptions and video from each school, links to visit each school’s web site, the Open House calendar and registration forms.
Open Houses
Perhaps the best way to explore the opportunities at each school is to attend the Open Houses. Open Houses present students and parents with a special opportunity to gain information about the programs, faculty, and facilities of the Catholic High Schools on Long Island. Administrators, faculty members, staff, and students are available to describe school programs and to answer questions at the Open House events. This year’s Open House calendar is listed under the events tab of the app.
The Open House schedule is also published at www.CHSEE.ORG along with additional details, frequently asked questions, links to the schools and links to registration forms.
(Note: registration forms are also available in the app)
