About Arcadia
We designed the Arcadia app for you. So you have access to all the latest up to date information about your building, at your finger tips.
ARCADIA was designed by Nonda Katsalidis of the firm, Fender Katsalidis Architects and was completed in 1999.
Nonda Katsalidis is credited with bringing innovative thinking to the design of apartment buildings which he moved away from the common rectangular shape.
Other groundbreaking projects designed by Nonda are the Eureka Tower and the spectacular Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart.
There are 70 apartments in the building across 9 floors and approximately 140 residents. After the AGM of the Management Committee, which is just before Christmas, there is usually a party in the foyer. Watch for the notices and come and meet some more of your neighbours.
The ground floor foyer has several pieces of art. On the northern wall are four works by indigenous artists. From left to right they are: Sand Hills by Lily Kelly Napangardi (2008); top centre and lower centre: Body Paint by Betty Mbitjaria (both 2008); right hand side: Hailstorm Dreaming by Napangardi Campbell ( 2007) Opposite the lift the large work is Dislocation Network 2 by John Astanidis.
