Chef Ashraf traveled half the world as a Cruise Chef when he’s 17. With his experience behind him, he decided to settle in Singapore and started his career as a Chef-de-Partie to Sous Chef at L’AigledOr at Duxton Hotel.

In 1996, he participated in the 10th International Salon Culinaire Food & Hotel Asia and won the Gold Medal in the Main Course category competition.

He is most recognized by many muslim as he is the 1st Egyptian to head start Middle East cuisines in Singapore. In 1997, Chef Ashraf operates his 1st food court stall named Halal Amirah’s Grill at Gateway Food Court, serving halal Middle East & Western cuisines.

It was after much consideration when Chef Ashraf decided to open his very 1st restaurant along 121 Joo Chiat Road in 1999. During that time, you can’t find the best halal Black Pepper Steak and BBQ Ribs around Joo Chiat area except at Amirah’s Grill. Regular customers would travel all the way from neighbor country like Malaysia, JB just to try our authentic Kebabs and Mixed Grill Seafood. Business was blooming and more outlets can be seen around Joo Chiat & Onan Road, as well as Geylang Serai.

Moving on and out of Geylang Serai was Chef’s last decision when he managed to secure 2 good locations at 20 Pahang Street (January 2005 - May 2009) and 14 Bussorah Street (since February 2007). Diners can now dine in with settings and atmosphere designed with different feel of Arabian décor and artifacts.

The 2nd level at Bussorah Street is specially catered for private functions, parties and office events. Settings of Cleopatra Corner, Nefertiti Corner are comfortably set with sofa and dining tables. The new King Tutankhamum Corner with raised platform and carpeted sitting for group gathering are available without any surcharge. These 3 special corners are most popular anytime throughout the week. Advance bookings are advisable as all private rooms & corners are usually fully booked during weekends.

Enclosed private rooms are available in Bussorah Street outlet. Named as Queen's corner and Amirah's Corner respectively, they are great for families or buddies - get - together occassions. These private rooms are equipped with air-conditioned, TV & DVD player comfortably designed in unique conservation shop house with the feel of Arabic culture and music.

Chef Ashraf is still offering a tasty spread of Western and Middle Eastern appetizers, soups, salads and a wide selection of main dishes. Muslim longing to savour kebabs & steaks can now satiate the craving. These include sizzling steaks, Turkish Kebabs, Grilled Kofta, Grilled Seafood and Spaghetti Bolognese amongst others.

At Amirah’s Grill, Chef Ashraf brings in specialized ingredients in order to create superior quality dishes that are comparable to those that are served at hotels and leading restaurants here. Chef also ropes in the services of Egyptian, Tunisian, Lebanon, Moroccan & Turkish Chefs to spice up the fanfare.

Though Amirah’s Grill serves lunch and dinner, the restaurant stays open throughout the day until they served the very last customer after mid-night.
