Avant- Garde Salon & Spa is located in the heart of Coral Gables on Miracle Mile and was established by Renan Garcia and Jorge Alfonso in 1976. In a very short time, this incredibly talented duo became very successful and well known in Miami. Arturo De Vera, a loyal stylist to this day, became a third partner along the way.

Renan introduced his talent to the Univision network and soon became the beauty expert for Sabado Gigante, Univision's longest running television show. To this day, Avant-Garde remains Univision's main team of beauty experts, responsible for shows like "Nuestra Belleza", "Mira Quien Baila" and "Premio Lo Nuestro" to name a few. Renan eventually established his own beauty segment that airs weekly in the Univision network for the past ten years. News anchors and reporters such as Laurie Jennings, Shannon Hori, Alina Mayo, Natalia Zea, Belkys Nerey, Lynn Martinez, and many others depend on Avant-Garde for their beauty needs.

In 2010, the trio transferred ownership to Christine & Thierry Painparay, a French couple who previously owned and managed a high end spa in Cannes on the French Riviera. Renan remains the backstage director for the Avant-Garde team at Univision and Arturo remains a significant contributor at the salon, collaborating with the new owners in the beginning of a new era in the salon's successful history.

With the "French flair and glamour", the salon is continuing the tradition of excellent customer service, offering you complimentary drinks and sweets while you are experiencing our services and always greeting customers with a smile and warm welcome.

With the added touch of exquisite new products such as Kerastase, Moroccanoil, L'Oreal, the excellent Renan Beauty line and more hair treatments, you will always find what you are looking for. Our famous Bridal packages are available in the salon or on location.

In a totally renovated lavish spa, we provide great manicures and pedicures on luxurious self-massage pedicure chairs, as well waxing, laser CANDELA hair removal and skin tightening. In our three fully equipped treatments rooms you can enjoy facials with the exclusive French skin care line CARITA or rejuvenate with a great Swedish massage.

We’ve added a little boutique section for fashion jewelry where we feature pieces from Lauren G Adams and other stylish designs. Now, you can take a little part of the salon with you.
