Mr. Sami Al Ma'aedy Optical was the first center in Basrah to sell medical eyeglasses. Before him, all medical lenses were sent by mail to Baghdad where the professional eyeglass industry prevailed. He soon got interested in the craft that had never been practiced before in the City of Basrah.
