Light Sensor for Android
I first encountered an app that utilizes light sensors this way on my first phone, a Nokia N900. It was a good and very simple one. Yours reminded me of that other app, and also packs the timer feature, which makes yours actually better. Thanks for the effort!
Simple application. No ads and fancy stuff. Does it what it says. 1 query : the message "sensors is blocked" is developed based on ambient sensor or proximity sensor ?
In photography a non-metric unit of illuminance, the foot-candle is offten used. Foot-candle is defined the amount of illumination the inside surfance of a 1-foot radius sphere would be receiving if there were a uniform point source of one candela in exact center of the illuminance on a 1-square foot surface of which there is a uniformly distributed flux of one lumen. In other words, it's the ammount of light that actually falls on a given surfance. The foot-candle is = to one lumen per square foot.
The app present readings clearly, in a large font, on top of which there are no ads and no required permissions. Just what I was looking for!
No ads and no senseless permission requests.
No problems, and there is a calibration option in case something of wrong.
Worst app ever seen
But required hardware is not there in my phone
It works!!
Doesn't Work
Thanks for this application.
The app is simple and easy but it would be nice if there was a built in conversion calculator to determine candela. Would be a simple but useful function to integrate.
Really cool & simple app to use, don't know how precise it is but does the job! IF ONLY it had a save/history option I could compare my bulbs from room to room.... otherwise 5 Stars
Really simple and great app, I am new to android programming but this app has inspired me to try to make an app that will use the light sensor!
Works fine but it would be more useful it it didn't top out well before ratings of 1000 watt lights.
I hope its stable .
Best.
Simple and easy to use
Useful and handy in my pocket.
Good app
It works!!

i dont understand how to mesure a bulb light, i bought a led light bulb and it said it has 1200 LM (lumens) so in the description of this software it said flux then lux, is a typo? ls it lumens? how far from the light bulb should i put the phone to mesure the light?
No unneeded permissions. And does exactly what it says. Wish there were options to mute the audio for the 5 sec count, maybe a visual countdown instead. Other than that it's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks. One complaint though is the font size. My system uses the largest font settings, and the luminosity value text is large. Sometimes it is wordwrapped thus moving the controls and gets back. For example 1000.11 may be wordwrapped and 999.9 may not be, resulting in an ever-moving UI layout. This could be fixed by making it shorter by removing lx, which we already know, or by making it always fit in one line (resizing font).
I don't need an all singing all dancing photography light meter, I just want a simple light meter that tells me the light output from a given source. This app is perfect for checking aquarium light levels. And it gives lux and foot candles on the same screen. Super app
Is simple to use, No a lot of info this isn't necessarily. Thanks. The good thinks didn't need to much sophistication.
An option to mute the sound would be great.
But it was rubbish

Seems to work better than some of the other light meter apps. Easy to understand.
Works well. Could use averaging over time mode.
Works well! I use it to measure light levels that trigger automated tasks
Good app
Cool
It works!!
Cool!
Excellent application
