About Inventory Desk Scanner
Inventory Desk Scanner is a utility that can be used as an ADD-ON to Inventory Droid and Inventory Desk applications, OR and a standalone scanner for 3rd party Inventory Application of your PC.
Go to www.InventoryDesk.com to request a FREE download of Inventory Desk.
This application will make your Android device act as a direct scanner into Inventory Desk or other Inventory systems or applications.
You can scan from your phone and directly see the results and online database searches appear on Inventory Desk on your PC.
REMEMBER TO SET YOU OS FIREWALL (Control Panel->Firewall) to ALLOW a connection to/from JAVA.

Current Features:
- Buffered scans; ie: scan as many barcodes using you phone, then go onto Inventory Desk and see your items and decide what to do with them.
- Configurable TCP port number.
- The purchase of Inventory Desk Scanner will enable extra features in Inventory Desk.
These features include:
*UPC online information searching.
*Manual UPC entry and searching.
*Ability to use any 3rd party Barcode Scanners with Inventory Desk
*Ability to use any 3rd party Inventory Software on PC (using IDS Listener)
Possible Connection Issues & Meaning:
Transport End Point not Connected = Possibly Connecting to thru 3G on phone instead of WiFi.
/Network Unreachable = Wrong IP Class or Subnet used.
No Route = Possibly Connecting to thru 3G on phone instead of WiFi.
.home/: Conection refused = Correct IP subnet but wrong PC, or correct PC but wrong PORT, or correct PC but IDesk Port is not open.

The latest update (1.06) solved some connection issues I was having and added a new feature where the Android application tells you on opening whether or not you are connected to the PC software. Thanks RomiSys!

This app is nice, Its very responsive as others have said. I would like to see the ability to add or remove columns. So I can track my inventory in a more fine grain detail. You have location listed, but what about department listings? I like how you approached your category it would be nice if you could add that to location feature or give us the option to choose that if needed and adding more columns manually. Another bigger question is if I scan a item that I have 6 of that are all the same model but they all have different information associated with them. Such as a laptop for instance it would have a model and serial associated to each of the 6 different items. If I say its 6 it should prompt for that type of question possibly.Also if there is more than one it should do something like display the model and then a sub category of all the items under that specific listing. I do thank your company for developing a very non cumbersome application. I've used two different programs so far which were nice but lacked very heavily in simplicity. When you are a 1 man show dealing with 1000+ items that are ever changing you have made this mans life that much easier. Keep up the good work

a few items i would love to have, after scanning a barcode it asks how many and an offline storage so you can scan and then sync up later. would be the best app if it had those few items, but great app none the less
