Earthquake Hazard Advisor EQA for Android
SMFATAW is a first of its kind (citation needed) advanced warning system for large scale earthquakes magnitudes 5 and up as well as an advanced warning system for increased volcanic activity worldwide. After 6 years of testing the SMFATAW now has an app to report findings and issue advanced warnings for potentially deadly and damaging quakes and volcanic eruptions worldwide.
What Can The SMFATAW Do?
SMFATAW has a very specialized capability, it can detect the onset of a sudden change in the tectonic landscape. Although research is still underway it is not yet possible to detect the exact location on the planet where the quake may strike, but it can, with some* degree of certainty distinguish between a window of time that will experience magnitude 2.x-4.9 quakes from windows of time that will experience 5.0-5.9, 6.0-6.9, and 7.0 to a mega-quake weighing in at 10.0.
Earthquake "Swarms"
Just as the strength of hurricanes ebbs and flows, so too does the cycle of planetary earthquake activity. SMFATAW tracks these swarms, names them, and issues warnings based on the expected severity. EQA or the Earthquake Assistant hopes to establish a rhythm of preparedness among individuals, first responders, business owners, schools, and other local, county, state, and federal government agencies that respond to disasters in the hopes of increasing our ability to save lives in the face of the devastation brought on by tectonic activity.
*This is a young scientific model and as such may cry wolf and aim too high or too low with the warnings. We will freely label warnings that cry wolf due to mitigating factors as failed warning windows. Current reviews show room for improvement in the data collection model putting errors generated at +/- 10 hours for the swarm eruption time.
Customer Notification Rules and Regulation
Yellow, Red, and Purple alerts will yield an audible notification (vibrate is on the way, especially needed for sensory-impaired users) up to three times daily.
*Some quake swarms develop faster than others but generally speaking we can detect quakes 2-4 days in advance.
