East Regional Police Headquarter is located in Biratnagar, one of the most populated and industrial power house of Nepal with many industries placed in and around its suburbs. As in the ancient times this city was ruled by a king name Birat, thus the city came to be known as Biratnagar. It is also a historical place bordering India where we still can find the remains of the palace of king Birat. It is the hometown of many influential leaders in Nepalese politics as well as the centre of education in the eastern region of Nepal. People in Biratnagar are more inclined to education and industrial business. It has traditionally been an agricultural hub and is home to many agro-based industries of the country. Biratnagar is Nepal's second largest city, offering quite a number of attractions that tourists find appealing. Biratnagar is the gateway to the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, a peaceful haven for Nepal’s flora and fauna and a prime bird-watching destination that is visited by many bird enthusiasts from far and wide. Upon complation of the Koshi highway, road corridor between India and China will be operational adding more to the economic activity of the country.
