Bankier Apartments, founded in 1962 by Leon Bankier, is a privately-owned company that specializes in developing and maintaining both residential and commercial properties. We provide convenient living, shopping and dining choices for University of Illinois students and staff, as well as thousands of visitors annually.

Miriam Booth, managing broker of Bankier Apartments, has been with the the company since 1980. She has served on numerous City of Champaign task forces and professional boards, including the local chapter of the National Apartment Association as President, Vice President and a Director on the board. She served on the Board of the Mass Transit District (MTD), focusing on the transportation needs of Campus residents and merchants. Booth also served as a Board of Director with Campustown 2000, co-sponsored by the City of Champaign and the University of Illinois, the goal of which was to revitalize and beautify the campus and maintain the vitality of the community at large.

Bankier Apartments offers 600 residences in 35 prime campus locations. We feature studios, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, as well as houses. The Bankier property management and maintenance staff is always available to provide professional, personalized service to over 1,400 residents.

In addition to our residential locations, we have developed over 225,000 square feet of retail space nationwide, including 90,000 square feet located in the heart of Campustown. Major national franchisers such as Noodles & Company, Chipotle, Starbucks, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Urban Outfitters and numerous individual entrepreneurs have chosen a Champaign campus location.
