About Tablet Talk: SMS & Texting App

Tablet Talk is a tablet SMS texting app that lets you text from a tablet and even make voice calls, while your phone stays in your pocket! It works with all Android tablets, including Nexus, Galaxy, Note, and Kindle Fire tablets. Unlike other apps, Tablet Talk doesn't force you to use a new phone number... your friends, coworkers, and family can contact you with your existing Android phone number. In addition, Tablet Talk does not require an Internet connection, does not store your data, and does not eat your battery!

Our customers love Tablet Talk! Here's what some of them have to say:

★ "By far my most-used app. When I'm home my phone stays hidden on my desk."

★ "Officially the coolest app I have... Works great with the Nexus 7 and the HTC Thunderbolt phone."

★ "This is one of the most useful apps on Google Play."

★ "Love it! I've tried almost all of the tablet texting apps and I like this one the best! Most important to me is that It's private and secure - it doesn't use some third party company/website where my conversations are stored, all my texts are between the recipient and myself like they should be. I love the look, the layout, and the optional themes."

★ "I am a General Contractor and Tablet Talk is one of the most used apps on my Android phone and tablet. I will never be without it."

How does it work? Tablet Talk pairs your Android phone to an Android tablet over Bluetooth or WiFi (sorry, iPads, iPhones, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry are not supported). Incoming text messages on your phone instantly appear on your tablet. Start texting from a tablet on the larger keyboard, without having to reach for your phone! You can even make tablet phone calls (Bluetooth headset required).

Features include:

★ Privacy. Unlike other Android texting apps, Tablet Talk directly syncs SMS/MMS messages between the tablet and Android phone. No uploading or saving on company servers.

★ Speed. Tablet SMS notifications are almost instant. The tablet rings in real-time when you have a call!

★ Flexibility. Text anywhere, anytime, with or without Internet access. No mobile data is used to sync SMS. Easily switch between Bluetooth and WiFi. You can even link your tablet over your Android phone’s Wi-Fi hotspot, or over Bluetooth when Bluetooth tethering!

★ Quick Reply Popups and rich expandable Notifications.

★ Caller ID. Do you use a Bluetooth headset with your phone? Combined with Tablet Talk, you can dial and answer calls on the tablet, including a full call log. The phone stays in your pocket, or in its charger!

★ Android support: Tablet Talk works with newer versions of Android, including Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (used on the new N7 tablet).

★ There's more: MMS & group MMS support, custom themes, DashClock Extensions, Android SMS delivery reports, emoticons/smilies, backup and restore tablet SMS to phone … the list goes on!

Installation instructions:

Install Tablet Talk on both your tablet and Android phone, but only pay for it once. After you buy the app on your tablet, it will be made free for your phone on the Play Store. Here’s how to complete the installation:

1. Open the Play Store on your phone.

2. Press menu and select Settings-> Accounts. Select the account used to get the app on your tablet.

3. Press the menu button again and select “My apps.” Tablet Talk should be listed and available to install.

Tablet Talk works with all popular Android SMS apps, and does not replace how you text on your phone. If you use Go SMS, Handcent, or MIUI please see the FAQ in Tablet Talk or the Tablet Talk website for a quick and easy fix if messages do not automatically sync to the tablet.

If you would like to try Tablet Talk we use a 48 hour refund policy. Just send us an email anytime after the Play Store 15-minute period.

Straight Talk does not have an app too connect your messaging service to your tablet. I looked it up on the internet and was told there was no way you could connect your straight talk phone to the tablet. They could be not more wrong. It is such an easy set up and able to use my own cell phone number,. VERY HAPPY HAPPY! my

I only wanted this app so I could use my tablet (mounted in my truck) to make phone calls over my stereo as I don't want to mount my phone because its too small, and I use the tablet as a wireless media player and information center displaying OBD II information. I do not think this could work better! Very excited! My only question is, does it have support to add 2 different phones??

N70%
by N####:

Not bad as a basic tool. Needs work. Not all photos make it to the tablet, text messages sent from my phone don't show up in the conversation threads on the tablet, and there is no numerical or any other notification on the app logo on the home screen for unread messages, making it necessary to open the app only to verify any new text messages have been received, or not. Hence only two stars from me.

Receives pictures but no group MMS. Sending any MMS it loses sync & send never completes. I tried all settings, copied MMS network settings from the phone. It doesn't know slight differences in numbers such as +1 country code from someone in contacts without it. Messaging app for phone force closes immediately. No support response in a year.

This app works very nice in my samsung galaxy tab 4 but I can't receive call if I press answer button ring tone will be mute and not connected. But end button is working. Developer pls solve this error otherwise my payment will b wasted

Very shaky and unreliable connection between the phone and tablet irrespective of the ability to use either WiFi or Bluetooth. More time was spent troubleshooting the connection than was spent using it. Also, it's inability to successfully send multi-media files dooms it. Oh well, I'm out $2.99. Happy New Year!

Nexus 6p, Android 8.0.0; Samsung Galaxy tab s2 SM-T813, Android 7.0.0 Seems that every few days when I start TT on my tablet it closes immediately. I have to delete/reinstall the app to my tablet and then it starts working. When it's working it's great. Wrote to support 17 days ago and have not heard back from them. Anyone home?

I like it. works well when connected. i am on the new samsung tab s3 wifi only with ATT service. the app disconnects for no as yet identifiable reason so is not as reliable as I need it to be. the cell on the same network (port 4040 or 8080) is galaxy note 5 by Verizon. reconnecting is quick but means the cell must be at hand as well as the tablet rather defeating the convenience factor. /g

It was working fine for a couple of weeks. Then it it gave me some screwed up message about my phone being locked. Then the phone unlocked says it is always connected but it but it never communicates with my tablet. I payed for this app and all it dose is bug me continuously to rate it while it is continuously screwing up. So here is your rating.

I've used this app for years but it's become a sore. Notifications never go away so you can tell if you got new.. greatly annoying

X70%
by X####:

Just the app I've been looking for! My only complaint is that I can receive pictures from recipients, but I can't send any out. I get an app disconnect error each time, and it will not send once the app automatically reconnects. Using Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Black and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Phone. Other than that, it's still a great recommended app! If I can get the MMS to work for outgoing messages, then it's definitely a 5

Great app, but I can't seem to send attached pictures. Regular SMS is fine, but can't get the app to send a picture. I keep getting "bluetooth connection lost" message when I attempt to send. I tried increasing the timeout time, but that hasn't helped. I can send the same exact picture via my phone with no problem.  I'm using your app on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and a Samsung Note 3 - both Sprint. Any ideas?

wife likes this app, but she can not figure out how to pair with bluetooth, and have a bluetooth headset also connected at the same time. Is this even possible? The 'answer call' button on her tablet, sadly wont answer the call. But we think it worked once. i THINK it worked once, and she was able to talk through the tablet but she cant get it to do this a second time, She answers calls on the tablet, and the phone speaker kicks on. so its limited usefulness for her.

Very good app! Just one small recommendation: assuming you are using the WiFi connection mode, when you turn on your Hotspot.. There should be an automatic feature that enables tablet talk in WiFi mode.. Right now you have it set up for Bluetooth so when Bluetooth turns on.. The app is enabled however it changes its setting of connection from WiFi to Bluetooth.

Started off as a 5 star but had to go to 3 star. Tablet Talk on phone and Tablet via bluetooth kept disconnecting for just a second at a time and then reconnecting. Not a huge problem if you aren't listening to music via bluetooth. However I only use this in my car and I am always listening to music so when I was listening to music via bluetooth it skips every time the phone and tablet would disconnect and reconnect. Not a great experience.

Does exactly what they say it does. Use it with Bluetooth between my Galaxy S5/6, Tab S and Motorola Xoom 2. Tried wireless and that worked, too. I just prefer Bluetooth. Does NOT require any kind of internet access - which was my top reason for using this app. I use my devices like one of other reviewers has mentioned and don't have internet while driving. Love this app. Nice to find one that's well written and functions as stated.

Update 5/58/16: From what I've read this app is no longer being supported by the developer. So be aware, if it works it works; if not, don't expect it to be fixed. Does not work with LG G2 and Samsung 7.7 Tab. Using this app with a Droid RAZR Maxx & a Samsung 7.7 Tab. Works well and lets me keep an eye on messages while working without having to keep checking my phone.

I'm using this on my tablet that I installed into my truck on the dash. I use the tablet for a dedicated GPS and this app is great for call notifications while driving. Calls pop up on the screen and I can then answer and talk via my Bluetooth. I have an older truck so I use a separate Bluetooth speaker and I now have the same functionality that my wife has in her new car.

But i had to access connecting through teamviewer, since the tap to connect option is not visible in the round screen of watch. So kind request for an update with changing the tap and connect option ( Bluetooth icon) to autoconnect or in the main setting page please

Descent app that does pretty well. Only issue I can find is that when you tap the accept phone call button (the green icon) it doesnt answer the call... The end button and mute button work fine... Anyone know how to resolve it? Dev please reply. Thanks

Have used this app for 4 years, 3 different phones and 2 different tablets. Has never let me down! With changes to Android the app no longer marks messages as read, if Notification Access was implemented this app would be perfect.

X70%
by X####:

I couldn't believe that after installing this on both my phone and tablet, that I couldn't send a text message from my native default Messaging app that was preinstalled on my Samsung Note 4. So, basically, it boils down to this. If I wanted to ever use the native texting app on my phone (which is better, in my opinion for composing long texts), I had to disable or uninstall this Tablet Talk app. It's a hassle. Otherwise, it works great on my tablet.

V70%
by V####:

The app shows I have new messages in my notifications list and I can't clear them. I don't use this as my default messaging app and the messages it says are new are actually up to a week old. Really annoying and it does it in multiple phones. My Samsung galaxy phones and my Samsung note phones. I like the app, just hate the notification flaw. I'll be searching for a replacement. I expected more from an app I paid for.

C70%
by C####:

App works great and does exactly what it says it will, but it installed a useless "messaging" app on my phone that won't send texts. When my phone first starts up and I try to go to my stock messaging app it forces me to go to the useless messaging app until it crashes and then allows me to use my stock messaging app. Please remove this or at least make it optional and this would be a 5 star app.

V70%
by V####:

Would give 5 starts if it could be properly connected and stay connected at idle for more than an hour. If I silence my phone and then use my tablet and it kicks after an hour or so and I don't know about it cause still says connected.

X70%
by X####:

Update 4/21/16: Issue with incoming calls has not been resolved. I am also having issues with contact information showing up on the tablet when making calls. All outbond calls show up as "0". Incoming calls are logged correclty (but cannot be answered. I have tried using the fixes in the settings but no luck. Please take care of these issues! This app was so great when it worked.

X70%
by X####:

Really this is a useful app. Seems stable. I sent them a email on things I thought might need to be changed but after using the app on a daily basis I see they have really thought it through. However adding contacts sure would be nice!

X70%

I've been using this for over a month without issue, now it won't even connect to my phone when it's sitting right in front of me and it's paired. Makes no sense to me. I'm uninstalling this

Marshmallow broke this app on my note 4. Used to work amazing, now Bluetooth will not connect. Unfortunately there's no other alternative and this app has been dead since 2014...

X70%
by X####:

Didn't import photos or all the names of contacts from phone. On group messages misses half or more of group. I'm looking for something better. Doesn't show messages pictures. Also uses wrong pictures of contacts, very confusing. Deleted app.

X70%
by X####:

I downloaded it to use with my tablet and Bluetooth speakers (that are built to take calls) but it doesn't work with the speakers and still asks you to connect bluetooth headsets. It is unfair that this app is a paid one even when it has so many limitations and has not been fully developed. I now have paid for an app that doesn't work for the intended use. If I had a chance to try it first I wouldn't have wasted mymoney on it.

C70%

I have been using this app for over two years and really like it. My only issue has been with my cell & tab staying connected. The lost connection issue is probably due to my battery saver & task killer.

Loved the app. App got updated, and now crashes upon boot making app completely useless. Xperia Z Ultra running 4.4.2 -- reverted back to 1.9.9.3 and everything is 100% fine. Update breaks app.

X70%

Does some of what it says, but I am unable to answer my phone using my tablet (not attempting to speak through the tablet, just hit answer). Emailed support a week ago, no response. Will change rating if it is fixed and I get a response.

C70%

It does everything it claims though after searching their website I feel missinformed. They claim you cant use the mic or speaker of the tablet for phone calls saying its a limitation in android. That is not true, LGs android tablets will do this with the lg phone and their app. If you can figure out how to make it work like they did then you would have the best app of this nature!

V70%

Does not send pictures, disconnects every time you try to. Group texts come in scattered and not in order. No replying to group texts. Bad engineering.....

C70%

I just installed (11/06/2015). On the phone (as others have noted) I keep getting notification of text that I got 4 days ago, so it should not even show up in this app. I dismiss it on the phone but it comes right back. Equipment: Phone: Samsung Note3 and tablet: Samsung NotePro12.2. I had to force stop it on the phone.

And nobody will help. Despite several emails all ive managed to get in response, several times, was that someone would contact me. Nobody ever did.

O70%

I'm giving one star for the fact that you can use your cell number for this. Other than that, I sent a few text messages to people, and the message was sent in annoying broken paragraphs, unlike one whole paragraph when I text from my phone. Also, I couldn't get my phone and tablet to stay synced throughout the day-I had to keep checking to make sure both devices were enabled. This was too much bother for me. I'll just keep my phone handy for texting while I'm using my tablet. Will uninstall this app.
