NOAA Weather Radar & Alerts for Android
Really not sure what's going on with this application but I get non-stop update errors. These happen when I'm on Wi-Fi and when I'm using my mobile network. There's really no reason I would consider purchasing this application if I get non-stop update errors. Uninstalling and moving on to something better.
In the middle of Cyclone Debbie, North QLD Australia right now. It's super accurate, great detail & I love how fast the update feed is aswell! Love it! & wish us aussies some luck with this b*tch of a cyclone haha
I am just now getting this app for me an my son to hopefully keep us safe and sound. From bad weather possibly hurting us so we can get out of this trailer before it hits here.
I keep getting a warning telling me that the data may be outdated and to check my Internet connection. Tried it on wifi and on 4G and it still keeps giving me the warning. Rebooted my phone as well. No help. Checked in my play store and the app itself is up to date. Not sure how to fix this glitch, but normally it's a useful app.
Intrusive ads make app hard to use. Full screen popovers of game demos are more annoying when they return after you x out. The weather features are great bait for this ad platform.
I must say I really enjoy this app and all it's functions! The Devs have created a very open and easy to use UI. The ads are nonintrusive. Nonetheless, the app wouldn't update towards the end of the first week of use. I didn't get upset and bash them on the ratings and reviews. I sent them a polite email and guess what? Their correspondence was fantastic and within just a couple of days the issue was resolved. Fantastic and friendly consumer support! Have a blessed day all!
Obscene amount of ads. The app is nearly useless because of the 'avalanche' of popup ads and immediate and consistent requests to rate the app. I got a request to rate the app the first time I opened it - hadn't even had a chance to even see it much less use it. LOL.
App is great if stationary. It sends notifications when there are scary things happening nearby with weather, but if traveling it triggers many times about the same hazard, which is annoying if driving.
I have used it for a very short time and it provides accurate information but I have not received alerts for my area and today, there was a flash flood watch and a tornado watch. Also, I had to use the Clear Data option to remove unwanted pins and I have not found a way to change the tone for the notifications.
Nice icon. I expect your thermometers are better than mine, & I know they're not at my house. The difference between 32 (F) & 50 (F) seems significant. Also, "cloudy" under blue skies. Not useful.
Ever since the last update the app doesn't work 90% of the time. It says check internet connection. Its usually a week out of date. Everything else on the phone is working fine but this.
This is a good app for stormchasers in Australia if. You live on the sunshine coast ring Michael Warrilow on 0487 941 834 Tewantin Storm Chasers. Australian 4565 and if you have a video or photos of storms text them to me on 0487 941 834.
Saved our tails in Orlando storm. We saw a continual gap in the storm via NOAA's radar and exploited it. All around us was 7"/hr rain while we drove in just a sprinkle! Without NOAA, we'd either been sidelined for 90 mins or risk being washed away!
I don't want to be woken up with alerts for thunderstorms. I don't care about anything but the tornado alerts. They aren't the same thing and if the app can tell the difference I'm not going to use it. * I did check the settings. The option is "Thunderstorms AND Tornados" with a box to check or uncheck. It should not lump the two together. One is not a concern and the other is. They should be separated.
It's the NOAA, so of course it's got good info. The layout could use a revamp, though. Overall, I plan to keep it, and will likely use it most when severe weather crops up.
NOAA is a govt funded and run institution, they have no need to exaggerate or conceal information. They just report the facts of thier findings. This app is way more accurate than a lot of other apps. Also some of the other apps use NOAA as thier primary source of information on all things weather related.
The app works fine, but you know what's really great? When theres a tornado watch/warning and when you go to check what counties are affected you get hit with an ad for a crappy mobile strike app game or whatever that ypu can't x out of without closing the entire app.
This app is horrible... A tornado watch comes up and is immediately covered by a stupid ad!?!? What in the world! Get a different app if you want to stay informed and safe. This one is sold out to advertisers!! :(
When I first downloaded this app it worked great for me. But the last 2 days I keep getting a message that my Internet connection isn't good and the weather info will not be up to date. All my other apps that use Internet are working fine. So that's a problem. Also something I don't understand is that on the live radar, it's constantly going through old times (???). It'll say as of 30 seconds ago, then 3 mins ago, a day ago, then 45 seconds ago. Why not just show only current weather time?
it was pretty OK but there are now so many ads that it's more likely I will find a new app than pay to upgrade. why wouldn't I pay? a) the service used to be better b) you're getting data from the NOAA - it's free. EDIT: the ads are just way too constant. every time i open it, or switch to it - and they are obtrusive. Seems fairly obvious that you designed them to be more annoying because the pop up to buy the "paid" app comes up a lot more frequently as well.
Working great! About a 4 minute delay. I use it frequently to see when storms will arrive and depart as well as levels of rain, snow, sleet or freezing rain.
I like it enough to pay for the ad free version. My only complaint is that I have e to first pause the radar timelapse before I can drag it back and forth. The drag circle on the timeline should be there at all times.
The app seemed like it would have actual Noaa Radio. It does not. There was no difference between satellite, radar and rain formations. Just felt like it didn't have what I needed.
What happened? This used to be a great simple app. Now it keeps crashing, won't remember my home location and is basically difficult to use. All I did was get a new phone and it updated to the new style it sucks.
I just downloaded it and the first thing I'm meet with is a pop-up asking me to rate the app! Seriously? Give a girl a hot minute to explore for crying out loud! Geeez. But for the 15 seconds I've had it, I have no complaints...other than the really off putting pop-up, of course.
As the radar showed snow in my area I looked out my window and b dam the snow was there. This a A+ 101% must have abundantly. WOW
Didn't like the free app with the ads so I paid for the no ad version. The weather alert is very good warning you of adverse conditions. The radar graphics look great on my phone and tablet. The weather icon display could use some improvement but overall I like the app. I'm not sure if its a battery hog on my cell phone yet. As long as it's working fine it will stay on my phone.
Live, fully operational wide area radar in HD delivers real-time conditions in easy to use format. Zoom in function allows capture of weather activity in specific areas of geographic interest to users. Severe weather alert is available and continuous as an option. Intelligent design, flawless technical support , visually stunning...... Highly Recommended !!
The ads are very invasive, and even take you away from the app as you're trying to read the weather. I understand that apps are a necessity when it's free, but this just got to be too much with those "install now your phone is infected!" Otherwise I really really liked it, very accurate!
I downloaded this in hopes of not getting pop up ads in my time of need. I got just that. When you are concerned about the weather on your commute, it's terrible the way the local weather apps have ads that don't get out of your way so you can see radar. With this app we can see up front what's going on. They must care about people. I would highly recommend this app over any other one out there. It's simply the best
Bs random pop up adds full screen. I know I can pay to get the adds off but you app has full sceran apps that stop an thing your doing your just a troll app. Other app that can stand behind there product have banner adds and don't have full screen pop up adds that you have to close ur just a troll app that can't stand on its product u are just trolling. If your product is good enough u wouldn't need to hae full sceran adds you could hae Suttle add baners like weather underground ur just like a Nigerian scam
The ads are WAY too invasive! Ads I don't mind, but don't have them full screen unless I click on it. A hurricane tracker would be nice, as would a sunrise/sunset and moon rise/set time. A tide feature would be another great addition. With these features added, or modified this app would be worth 5 stars
The latest update of this app adds things that have long been present in the Apple version, such as showing NWS warnings. Still needs a hurricane tracker, but there are several months before that will be needed. Thank you for updating it and I look forward to more updates for this Android version.
Dysfunctional app. This app has tons of ads, a widget that doesn't update itself unless you open the app it came with, and also refuses to work while connected to a wifi (public and private) network. It will only work off of cellular data signal. Sorry but I will be avoiding this one. I have a galaxy s7 with the latest android os.
Pretty much the best weather app I've used. Three phones this app has proven to be better than the bloatware that comes installed. In Hawaii this was the go to app for hurricane season, and here in Seattle this app is the best about seeing when and where the rain or other adverse weather will be. The tracking follows your movement and keeps you notified of changes...like I said, best app. Saved a lot of money and time with work.
never has the same info as the NOAA site, therefore never accurate. the only part of the forecast which is ever right is the time. also : "23 degress, winds light and variable, feels like -17" 40 degrees of wind chill from no wind? most rubbish weather app i've tried
As a meteorologist, I'm a little fussy. I won't pay for things since most is free on the internet. This isn't worth my time but it's all I've got that I see and like sort of
For a free app it give a lot of info & very accurate. Nothing really to complain about except 1 thing, when it gives you the colored areas over the city (for example w/ rain, that is when we get rain in So Cal), it has all the colors to rep how much etc, but in order to see that I'd have to upgrade & pay, which I'm not doing! So that's really all I could complain about, rest works great!
But also many more ads than MyRadar. Annoyingly obnoxious and in your face ads and pop-ups. I just installed and will see how it goes. Added one star for the widget, which seems pretty awesome.

With a major snow storm occurring, I keep getting a message that the information in the app may be outdated and to check my internet connection. My internet is fine. I have restarted my device and the problem continues. I see that others have had this same problem. Oh, and while the heavy snow continues to fall, the app says "fog". There's no point in having a weather app that is not accurate and reliable. If this continues I will need to find a better weather app that won't fail when I need it most.
