Moviefone for Google TV for Android
Simple way to access current movie trailers
This new app from AOL's Moviefone allows you to view trailers on Google TV. In a way, it's like having your own version of "Sneak Previews", "Trailer Park" or other such movie trailer shows, including the commercials. That's right, I said commercials. Well, I suppose they had to monetize it somehow. A couple of issues. If you only want to see selected trailers, you have to go in and out of the menu system in order to choose the one you want. On my GTV (Sony NSZ-GT1), there's no settings menu. Once you pull up a trailer, you can use your remote to go back and forth among individual trailers within the categories: In Theaters, Coming Soon, DVD. There's one additional category: Reviews. This seems to be content from Moviefone and AOL-TV's "Unscripted" series. At launch, there were 50 trailers in each category and 40 "reviews". So, there's quite a bit of content for you to digest. Now... if there were just some mechanism to queue the content you wish to see. Nevertheless, a nice app for Google TV viewers.
the app is alright, but its a great start and also a sign of gtv not being completely dead!! it would be nice to rate titles, likeshare titles (fb, g+, twitter, etc) and organize a queue of sorts.... 08/08/13
