About AnkiApp Flashcards

Learning Chinese characters? Kanji? Medicine? Another subject with lots to memorize? With that much to learn, you need the right flashcard app, to get the most from your study time.

That's why Anki App uses an improved form of Spaced Repetition (SRS), built with Artificial Intelligence (AI), to maximize the amount of learning you get done in each study session. When you go to study, the AI chooses which flashcards you need to work on, based on a detailed analysis of your progress. It's like a coach, for your brain.

Make your own flashcards, styled how you like. Anki App lets you use colors, bulleted lists, and more. Or search through millions of flashcards that are ready for you to download. Your choice.

You get all this power, wrapped in a simple, polished app.

SIMPLE
• Easy to add cards directly from the mobile app
• Format your cards using colored text, bulleted lists, underlines, and more, all without knowing CSS
• Flip your decks to study back-to-front, with a couple taps
• Syncs automatically with desktop, web app, and your other phones and tablets
• Create decks on the go
• Make cards using photos from your camera
• Share any deck with a friend by putting in their email

POWERFUL
• Fully-featured—-NOT a "companion" app that requires a computer
• Detailed stats on each of your decks, and individual cards too
• For advanced formatting, supports HTML and CSS
• Text-to-speech (TTS) that reads parts of your cards in English or other languages
• Study offline, and your new cards and progress sync when you're back online

USER-FRIENDLY
• Dashboard that shows your overall progress
• Study at any time; doesn't force you to study cards on a rigid schedule
• Study your recent decks from the Dashboard in just 2 taps
• "Night Mode" that's easy on your eyeballs when studying in the dark
• Settings sync across all your devices

Ranked #1 Education app in multiple countries world-wide. Featured as one of the "Best Apps To Learn Foreign Language" by TechTimes.

Wouldn't even let in.

I'm getting frustrated as every day I do a set of cards it gives me one less card. I have to have the setting on 500 but I'm only getting good about 100 50 cards. It also has decided that I have completed cards in the set and won't show them to me again. I loved this app to start with and want to continue using it but feel improvements need to be made.

I've used all Flashcard apps, just wanna say this one is the best, don't miss it. The only thing is I think more frequent updates are needed.

by X####:

Some features show available, but aren't. Like when I select blue font and large. Will be blue but small. Can use photo gallery, but camera icon brings up typing keyboard, not camera. Needs card color option with font color, and more colors.

Crashes when creating cards containing Latex. No way to review cards with mixed tags. No reply from developer for support ticket. Could be a great flashcard app but these issues and lack of support leave me considering going back to AnkiDroid...

Helps me a lot with my studying, definitely love this app. This app deserves 5 stars, though if I would complain about something, I would have to say that the interface takes a little time to get used to.

Wanted to like this more, but too many glitches made it unreliable. Sometimes it had difficulty downloading large decks, couldn't connect to server, and yesterday it forced me to log out and thus removed all my local decks. Since it can't connect the sever, I won't be studying for my exam this morning.

I sat for 2 hours loading pictures and words to create flashcards and it won't open at all. Why? Not happy with the app

Thank you so much for this application. I have always been learning the words with a paper flashcards, but now I am going with Anki. So happy to find you. Will share this app with my friends on Instagram. Thank you, keep working. I love this app so much. You do create a value, you are super! Good luck!!!

Clean UI, but that algorithm that selects cards isn't very good. Cards that I often get wrong don't appear much more often than ones marked as easy. Really defeated the point of a flashcard app. Should have just used the algorithm that the original Anki uses.

Unaleash the AWESOME! AnkiApp is a fantastic flashcard tool and offers a number of features that presently, in combination, give it clear advantages over other similar apps. Features such as free availability across Android and Apple systems alike and simple, laptop/desktop-free card editing make this app quite appealing. However, I must agree with a number of other users in citing the disadvantages holding this app back from true AWESOMENESS: 1) frequent crashes (allegedly due to card content) 2) necessity of online access in order to add audio files to cards 3) inability to combine decks or cards from different decks to form new decks (this would be a great feature especially for the original creator of said decks and cards). These aren't the only points of improvement for AnkiApp, but they are certainly among the most significant. Making these improvements would certainly clearly set this app apart from other similar, yet better known apps!

Very good app, but would recommend a change: when you go to view cards section and open one of them (i.e. to change them or smth), after you go back to view cards section, you have to scroll all the way down from the beginning.

M70%

Doesn't download most of deck cards/data while trying to sync, unfriendly UI. Great card customisation options, useful if you don't rely on sync too much.

W70%

Obviously trying to cash in on the popularity of the (awesome) AnkiDroid app.

I just have a few suggestions to make the app more user friendly. If I change the setting (ie. From front to back to back to front) it should stay at my choice. Right now it reverts back to default setting so I need to keep changing it. Secondly, when I open a card there should be a button to go to the next card, because now I have to go back to the cards page and go to the next card. Lastly, when I leave a card and I go back to the cards screen it should take me back to where my last card choice was, because now I have to scroll and scroll to find my last choice. Otherwise this has the potential to be a great app.

I've tried half a dozen other spaced repetition apps. This one's the best I've found. The interface is clean and the ability to add cards from the website is an important feature missing from many others. In my opinion, all it's missing is a notification feature that will let you know when you need to study.

X70%
by X####:

The font size limitations make it really not a great format. You are limited to choosing from a small to incredibly small font size. Nobody would ever write so small on a real flashcards to study. Maybe for their definitions, but definitely not the target words.

Great App. I strongly recommend it for everyone!

Add confirmation for important procedures . When I add a tag I can't choose it for other cards, please fix that. Finaly ,why I can't change names of downloaded decks because there are many with the same name

Love the web editor. If you know a bit of HTML/CSS you can create fantastic card templates. Suggestions: I'd like to be able to save my deck templates for new decks, to be able to mass edit tags, and to be able to create decks from tags. Love it, devs. Keep it up!

This is a really great app that I'm using to learn ancient Greek. I would give it 5 stars, except whenever there is a letter with an accent, there is a blank instead, so I can't see the word properly. Please fix this, and then I'll give it 5 stars.

This app sucks to the point that it's useless. My card decks come out with blank cards, or missing essential text. The interface is confusing and not well designed. Instead get the free AnkiDroid app, it works great. Save your money and get that instead of this app that doesn't work and has totally unresponsive developers.

The program seems to adjust the score for an 'easy' card based on how long you took to click the easy/good/hard/wrong buttons. That means if you aren't answering right away the code will assume you don't know the card very well. Interestingly it counts both the time before AND after the flip. There needs to be a way to turn this timer off for those us who are slow, or using the app casually, or, in my case, verbally quizzing a young child.
