Chirp for Android
Chirp 'sings' information from one phone to another.
Share photos, links, notes and more: all from your built-in speaker!
Anyone in listening range can then hear the chirp sound and receive your picture!
• Share photos with groups of friends
• One button-simple - just chirp it!
• Share any link you like
Chirp works on all Android 1 Ghz dual-core phones.
chirp connect online for sending anything, even notes and messages! There is nothing u can do offline. and they don't want to give us offline capabilities. the app is of no real or practical use.
An innovative way of sending and receiving text, photo's and URL's. Amazingy fast and easy, without the need of any possible connection between devices. Great!
Works flawlessly between all mobile devices android and iOS. Hope the day will come when you can transfer any files types in any size. Keep up with this great project. Thanks for a very ingenious and elegant solution.
You're essentially uploading to their server and they give you an audio url for the data so it's pretty fun and gimmicky, good for marketing. But a word of warning: Do not upload anything sensitive if you value your privacy. Also the mic is always listening in the app which I find weird.
Depending on how you landed here, you might be disappointed or impressed! For me, I'm annoyed. What's the use, if it still needs internet connection to send the file? Google Tone sends links directly, now this wants me to upload to somewhere before being about to send? And I download 6MB of apk? Crap!
AWS access error! I don't see any usefulness of the app since it uses data connection.
Great idea. Bugs in the app though - can't save pictures to gallery, can't sent videos and Android share isn't fully worrying yet.
Couldn't believe how well it worked. Unlimited applications
Don't really see anything negative about it.
Didn't work with pasted urls
Feels like a sci-fi movie! Works great!
When listening to podcasts/audio book/music this app may cause the media volume to go from full volume to 1/3 the total volume. It also occurs from completely muted to 1/3. I have seen this on Galaxy S4 and moto e 2nd gen with stock roms on both. Issue occurs when switching WiFi to cellular, cellular to WiFi and sometimes cellular to cellular network changes.
Super app , its sounds like a sci fiction
Faster and more comfortable than bluetooth to share things.
Works great thank you
This would be a whole lot more useful if you could send contact info, specifically your own.
Good idea... can be improved.
i see the future here really i love it
So easy to use!
This is innovation..
Chrome extension also available. Should make sharing much easier.
Amazing app
New tech its awesome
Unbelievably great app!
I love this app (Wish I used this more!) But unfortunately it doesn't like to connect with facbook. I can't wait until this is fixed :)
It would be great to send and recieve files directly from one device to other without an intermediate link. I could simply whatsapp the file and done.
Very unreliable when going between Nexus 5 and iPad. Also caused problems with voice recognition on Nexus 5. When it works is fun.
Will not load with Nexus 6 :-(
The summary infers that the files are encoded but it is really just a sound encoded link to an uploaded file. I not only do not want my file uploaded but I wanted to be able to share files without an internet connection. So only one star for more marketing hype than technology
I can send, but not receive for some reason.
This app is based on an ingenious idea, however it has several problems. First when I transfer a pic from on device to another, it will fail to save it to me you gallery unless I exit the app, then launch it again. Once I reopen the app, it will save the pic. Secondly, pics are substantially reduced in quality when sent through chirp. I would like to transfer them at full or near full resolution, or at least be given the option to choose. Other than these faults it is a great app.
Developers have left the app to rot away. So much potential
Crops photos and cuts off heads on closeup photos. Do away with the cropping and it will be 5 stars
I love Chirp but it no longer work properly. Always crashes. Nexus 5
Easy to use, very effective
Very unique idea, sadly not so common
Whenever I receive an image, it never lets me save it! It always says "Failed to save image"!
Great idea and implementation! Love it!
Works superbly , but has very limited use , as only one picture at a time , if you could send multi pictures it would be a fantastic tool to use , especially to send a bunch of pics from phone to tablet !

Maybe try frequency shift keying and become the first app to perform true data transfer via audio only. no url. no internet. no veiled and misleading claims. therapeutic eh?!
