An accurate and useful compass in your pocket! Accurate Compass has a great 3D view along with an intuitive user interface. This tool works exactly like a normal compass and is easy to use for:
-checking (magnetic) North, South, East, and West,
-navigating unfamiliar places,
-finding out the bearing of objects in the distance,
-or just checking which way your garden faces!
The compass also shows the bearing (in degrees) in a side window and its 3D view will work even when your device is not held parallel to the ground.
This app is the same as Accurate Compass, but without the adverts!
Note that this app relies on the magnetometer of your mobile device so accuracy may vary. Also, please check that your device isn’t being affected by a magnetic field. There is advice on calibrating your device within the app.

The compass works well laying flat like a real compass but I would prefer to hold it at an angle but the compass rotates when you do. Anyone getting off the beaten track should have one this good.

Well, it's more accurate than any other I've tried with mt Galaxy Express i486 (or whatever # that is) but not the rotating compass part. The red North arrow points to different "Norths" depending on wich way I turn my phone while flat. But wichever way I turn the phone the top left read out that says N or NE or S is always accurate even though it doesnt match the animated compass. So it technically works and I know wich way is north and that's all I need anyway.

I like it. And just like using a regular Compass. Seems to be very accurate and I like the fact that you don't have to put your phone down on a flat surface. It meets my needs perfectly.
