Smart Voice Recorder

I use it to record my playing Tests for band and sometimes when going over the break on my clarinet it cuts it out. This does not happen on any other recording program that I've used and only this one. It's caused me to lose marks on the tests which is why I use different app

I recorded a very important conversation, however, upon playing it back, I discovered that the most of the audio had cut out. This has caused me a great deal of inconvenience/embarrassment and I am very upset about it. My advice to anyone who is considering using this for something important: DON'T. Instead, invest in an actual voice recorder device instead. I am never using this app again.

I use this to record my songs while I'm writing them so I don't forget them and this app has been amazing! It's very easy and clear to use. The only thing that could be improved is if you could loop recordings (play them over and over without touching the screen) but that is just a personal preference. Overall 5 stars

I used this app in conjunction with a higher quality digital micro recorder (Sony PX333) to record an informational audit for work. As far as I could tell, the quality of recordings were similar with some microphone gain set for both the recorder and app and light background noise present.

Still great sound quality. When you select Share, the file can be emailed or texted as an attachment. The only issue, unrelated to the app...are size restrictions of the file as to what you can send. However, the restriction msg pops up, but will allow you to attach it to email anyways. It also provides good sound quality when playing files. 02/20/2014-The App is so good, it also records background applications, ie YouTube etc

Everything is working fine.. but i have only one issue while recording time if mobile Scree is locked then no pause and resume options highlighted.. is there any settings for fixed it then plz help me.(I tried but I'm not able to fix this issue).. if not then any tricks or any other apps to enable this function. I don't want any other Voice rec apps..

There is a lot of dead air recorded Even though "skip silence" is checked. Each night can go anywhere from 6 minutes to 3 hours. That being said, it is pretty sensitive. Id love to get rid of the white noise sound though during the 'silence'.

It does what I want, but the first time I used it to record a meeting that was important to me, the sound was broken and unintelligible. I don't know whether this was because the sound level was too near the skip silence threshold,or if the dynamic recording level was set wrong. I switched off skip silence and fiddled with the recording level settings, but I am not quite sure what settings I should have used. Subsequent recordings were a bit better.

This is a great app for the cost 0$. It really is better than anything I've found. The sound capture options and settings are great. Highly recommend this. Don't judge it on playback through your phone... play it through a car audio system or anything with a premium capability.

This free app is definitely worth the download. It's easy to use and has pretty good sound quality. The only thing I had problems with was the skip silence option. This option caused the app to not pick up any noises unless they were extremely loud.

I would give it 5 Stars if it would pick up the communication given from my Bluetooth headset. When I'm using Bluetooth it cannot hear the person on the other line. That would be super cool. But so far I really like it. At first the game on the microphone was too low and I made one quick adjustment and now it will pick up a conversation using my hands-free speakerphone on this cell clear across the room. I really like the lockout silence feature. Good job.

This app has been great. It's one of those rare apps that just does exactly what it says it does. The silence skipping works wonderfully and it has worked consistently across three phones Nexus 5, 5X and 6P. Great app, an example to other developers of how to avoid excessive features and clutter. Only thing that would be nice is a visual overhaul to material (Google) design but the functionality is what's important and this is excellent!

Every time I finish recording a bit or sometimes even when I start, my app store opens with some ridiculous candy game along with an advertisement in my browser. Quite annoying.

I got something i want to say. This app is great, you see i had a voice recorder app already installed on my phone. But I had trouble with the app, like when I want to record it would pop up a message that said: can't record during call. So i went to the app store and found this one. Thanks for making this app it really helps me out.

Works well, would be good to allow rotation of the play back screen to let me get to the point I need to when recording for an hour or more. On the small screen it's hard to pin point an exact time for long recordings. But otherwise good app

Maybe it's not for capturing live sound, but it blanks out portions of the sound when the volume gets lower, but not silent. Manual setting on skip silence mode. I have now ruined 2 band performances trying this cool looking app, but chopping songs when the dynamic is lighter (bass notes are still resonating but chops anyway) sucks. I will never use again, probably just use S5 default recorder.

This has been a functional and dependable voice recorder. I have used it for a couple of years now on a couple of different androids and it has done quite well. I hate to abuse the system and give it 4 stars just to be compatible with everyone else because 4 stars means above average. not many things can be above-"average". & 5 stars means exceptional. This app does well. It is a very good app. 3 stars! ☺

Awesome sound, but one thing wasn't good, that it doesn't support split screen, so I have to get 2 voice recorders. Fix it, and I will completely delete the other ones and only use this one! And I'll give 5 stars! Thanks for good work! But do me a favor, work on that split screen thing!

A perfect tool to record these meetings to make sure that the minutes are correct. Also, no one will know. You have only your phone in front of you. And the recording quality is very good, even recorded the whispering of the kiss ass down the table.

Used to be a brilliant app on my previous phone Samsung S4. Now I have moved up to Samsung S7 Edge. It doesn't work at all. As soon as you push record it puts the phone on silent & does nothing. Hoping this will be fixed in an update as when it was working it was excellent.

I take notes. And this app is really as good as it gets. No need to snip off .. easy to pause with the red button. I just wish i can get a higher quality recording like 96khz 24-bit !

Thank you to the development and thought of this app. It will only start when it detects noise. I have a constant ring in both ears and can only sleep with white noise. The app does not pick up all of the white noise and will only start when I thrash around in bed, talk in my sleep or snore. Great app.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I had to leave the office but had a con call set with 3 important managers. Made the call on my way to another appointment thru my blue tooth and have the entire conversation recorded. This saved me from trying to make notes while driving. I came back to the office the next day and played back the entire 35 minute recording and typed everything into my computer. Definitely saved my life and others!!

I am evaluating this application for use as a mobile field recorder. The first impression is very good. The silence feature works well in quiet conditions. Not as well when commencing with road noise, but the pause button works fine. I might like to see the pause button a bit larger and moved away from the standard Android buttons to avoid accidental home screen visits when recording. I do also like the ability to force the screen to stay on when the recorder is is foreground.

Even if most recorded conversations aren't admissible unless there is a warrant or all parties sign a consent form. But when you are dealing with sheisty people this app come in handy. Chances are these types never end up in court...at least not the Earthbound kind! You get an electronic record as back up so you're always covered. The only thing I would imorove is the warm up thung....I wish it recorded immediately!

This app is not the "best rated" app when you search for one. That one has a TON of reviews from musicians recording music. I have used this app for conversations and everything else. I hope the new version works as well as the old(1yr). Noticed 1 change so far, ADDS! but are Very Quick to dismiss. So far same GREAT app! Just wish I had those old recordings! A cloud account(or something like it)would be nice for this type app!

Yeah, this is an good app. It does exactly what you need it to do and is simple. Yet, while it is simple it has every feature that you would want/need. It has multiple selections for quality(which can save space if you use a lower quality), recording times, it has "silence skip"(which works pretty well I personally used it to see if I snore or talk in my sleep; I don't luckily), it has an equalizer, you can select where you want to save the recordings (which surprisingly isn't an common feature. Good app.

Stable, works as expected, and with a very clean, easy to understand UI that meets my own standards for UIX (I'm a developer). This app is direct to its point, and little else. One question: Recording with skipping seems to consistently stop after approx 300 MB of storage is consumed. Possible bug, but also possible user error? Suggestions: The controls at the bottom of the main screen are small and easy to misclick: please enlarge if possible. Summary: nice design, stability, and usability. 5 stars!

Hello there! At first I was super happy and thankful for having this app.. However, it's not the same..I used to record not just only the person who's talking to me, but whole background as well..When I tried record a call today, it would only record my self not the other person their voices sound like bee or mosquito... it seamed so fake.. is there any solution for that?

Had an idea for a song in my head that I didn't want to forget.. opened the store, downloaded this app, grabbed my guitar and boom... Actually sounds decent recording an acoustic guitar. The skip silence feature is amazing too, it starts recording when you're ready, instead of 20+ seconds of fiddling around getting ready to record.

I really liked this app. Does what it requires to do. The only thing I would like is if you could add a feature that it does not stop playing the recorded file if minimised or while locking the phone. Also I think it would be great if you could add some recording features like studio for output etc to make it more fun for recording songs !!

Smart Voice Recorder is 5 of 5 with regards to its purpose. It is an indispensable app for me. I am a prolific user, and generally use it as an audio journal. It's only in-app purchase is to elect out of ads for $1.49, but I have never been aware of them as they occupy less than 1/15th of my screen, and are completely unobtrusive. I chose to spend the $1.49 as a supportive gesture. I would encourage the developer to add extra feautures for monetization purposes.

I haven't explored all the different things you can do with this app (if there are) but if you need to record sound then it works great. You don't need Wi-Fi to record something, the organization is great and you can turn your screen off and it'll still record. I use it in interviews for my journalism lecture and it works really well.

This app has a very user friendly interface. All functions are easy to understand, and manage; although, it is taking a little time to get used to calibrating the microphone. It's more of a trial and error to get the best clarity; and, catch all individuals in a meeting. Maybe an update with a quick tutorial for this. Otherwise, I am quite pleased.

Love it! I use it to sneak record my 1 and 2 yr olds talking and singing each other lullabies at night.. I can keep it running in the background, or while my phone is in sleep mode so my girls don't know I'm recording. Because it auto-skips recording silence, I could keep it running for hours if I wanted

Perfect for my recording needs. I'm able to record phone calls, when the phone is in speaker mode. This is perfect for recording phoney prank calls. It also has a send function to share what I record through email or Android Message texts. Highly functional and easy to use, anyone can quickly become a recording engineer.

App does not apparently allow you to set the default save folder to your SD card. If your phone space is limited, you will have to use another file program on your phone to physically move each audio file to your SD card. Why can't this app make it easy for me to choose the location of where I want my saved folder?

My biggest thing is it doesn't record any sounds your phone makes. So if you want to know how good You really sound singing karaoke, better use a separate device for the music. I wanted to use it for recording phone calls with a friend but again, it doesn't pick up any sound from the phone :/ kinda disappointing.

I play in several bands and orchestras. Often there are few rehearsal and I have to be able to review my entrances (and difficult bits) on my own so I can hit the stage ready to go. This little tool gets it done without having to carry an extra piece of gear.
