All your favorite podcasts and programs from NPR that had been part of the old NPR Podcaster Science Tech app, but now also including other programs from Scientific American, PBS, and more.

What's Changed
MAJOR UPDATE. We have updated our code with the latest release of our app framework, and have added a couple of new features. We've added a navigation drawer as well as eliminating defunct podcasts, replacing them with new ones specially selected for your enjoyment, and updating the RSS links to all still existing podcasts. We have also eliminated ALL interstitial ads as well as several malfunctioning banner ads.

This is a great app, if it wouldn't stop all the time in middle of podcast. Every time I try to play it will quit after a few minutes

Love the idea of having all these pod casts available at the touch of a button, but there's no way to exit the podcaster, there by it just runs all the time, and you always see it in the notification bar. Please add an exit program option.

Doesn't work at all. Downloads and then says "file error" and won't play. Uninstalled. Rubbish.

Thanks so much for this app: finally I can easily find and download my favorite NPR podcasts and listen to them even when my data connection is not that great. Just a couple of questions/suggestions: Is there any way I can see which podcasts I've downloaded? It would be great to be able to see that, for easy access and cleanup. Also, a playlist function would be very helpful.

P if you mean how do you stop a podcast and have it actually clear your memory, you can long press the "play" button within the podcast view and you should get a list of actions including "download and play" and "stop". If you press the "stop" there, it will stop the podcast and clear it from memory. Also, if you are in the podcast list view, then long press the actual podcast that you are playing and you will get a similar list of menu options including "download, etc, etc" and also "stop" which will do the same thing. Remember, when in doubt, Long Press!! :) -- Fedora Nate

The app is great, it has a very nice collection of pod casts. 5 stars for content. But, the ads are very annoying. They load slowly, often don't have an obvious way to close them, and can run pretty long.
