Die Laktose-Ampel-App ist eine mobile Hilfe, um Laktose in Nahrungsmittel anzuzeigen. Die Kennzeichnung erfolgt farblich in den Farben Grün für eine laktosefreie Lebensmittel, Gelb für mögliche Laktosespuren und Rot für laktosehaltige Nahrung. Das Programm soll das Mitführen in Buchform ersetzen.
Die Laktose-Ampel für das iPhone ist die beliebteste Laktose-App in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.
Die App greift auf eine internetbasierte Datenbank zurück. Die zugrunde liegende Datenbank enthält die Angaben des Laktosegehalts mehr als 10.000 Nahrungsmittel, die in regelmäßigen Abständen erweitert wird. Grundlage sind Angaben des Deutschen Lebensmittelschlüssels, der Universität Hohenheim, der National Library der USDA und der Hersteller. Die Datenbank kann aber trotzdem Fehler enthalten oder die Hersteller die Zusammensetzung der Nahrungsmittel geändert haben. Daher kann die Ampel-App nur als eine Orientierungshilfe dienen. Die Angaben entbindet Sie nicht, Ihre Speisen auf Laktosegehalt überprüfen.
NEU: Update (29. September 2014) - Erweiterung der Datenbank durch die Neuaufnahme von vorwiegend laktosefreier Produkte. Datenbank umfasst nun mehr als 10.000 Produkte.
