Whitton Lions RFC

Whitton Lions is one of London’s newest rugby clubs, affiliated to Middlesex Rugby since October 2011. Founded to bring the sport of rugby to Whitton in South West London, a town which has never had its own team despite being walking distance from the home of English rugby at Twickenham stadium, the club is still in its infancy and played its first games in April 2012.

We take both the playing and social sides of our sport seriously – we train twice a week (once when there’s a game on at the weekend) and play both 7s throughout the summer and 15-a-side rugby in the Middlesex Merit Table (7th Division) during the regular season. We also have a thriving social calendar and a friendly inclusive atmosphere.

We are always on the lookout for new players – we have a great track record with bringing new players into the sport, or welcoming players back after a long break. So whether you’re a bright young thing who wants to continue playing after school or uni or you haven’t picked up a ball in a decade and you’re wondering whether you’d enjoy a run-out, we’re happy to accommodate.

We’re also on the lookout for coaches, referees, volunteers, sponsors and vocally enthusiastic supporters, so even if your playing days are over (or never got started) we’d love to welcome you.
