Not all birds have beautiful voices; unlike songbirds who create pleasant springtime melodies, the crow isn't very musical. These common black birds can make over 20 different complex sounds, including coos, rattles, clicks, and of course, their characteristic caws. Most of the crow's harsh-sounding vocalizations consist of two distinct types of caws. First, the crow makes patterned caws used to call out to companions for no reason in particular. Second, the crow makes more irregular caws of varying pitch and intensity used to react to events and threats around them, such as warning of a nearby predator or fighting over food. Once you are familiar with crow sounds, you'll be able to tell the difference between various types of crow caws!

I want to support an app that isn't for the purposes of hunting since I believe crows have more intelligence/culture than the *average* dude w/gun who would kill crows. So happy that this one exists! Want to rate it higher if user critiques are taken into account. 1st impression listening to samples & reading reviews: quality sounds, easy format. Needs additional mode in repeat function to create a playlist of different calls instead of just one - w/optional spaces between so they have time to reply. I need handsfree while gardening. Fatal FLAW - calls need simple labels like "danger" "warn off stranger" "family" "casual" "friendly" etc. Current study on crows knows this info. As another reviewer said, #2 is unforgivably offensive, & you'll ruin any relationship you are trying to build w/your home crows - forever - as they remember faces & teach new generations those faces as well. As it is, I will be experimenting w/this away from home so I don't burn bridges.
