Hello BoPoMoFo

One of the most important things in the acquisition of a second language is to learn how to read its writting system; the later is particularly difficult in Chinese, in which characters do not provide immediate phonetic cues as naturally occurs in western languages.

"Hello BoPoMoFo" Introduces step by step a phonetic referece system designed for the particular features of Chinese characters called 注音符號 (Zhuyin Fuhao) or BoPoMoFo. You will find out that the symbols that comprise it can be friendly embedded within Chinese text in either its horizontal or vertical disposition.

The first section "Phonetic notation" consist of the 37 symbols of the BoPoMoFo and it's articulatory positions, the second section "Syllables" presents all the syllabic arrangements of Chinese with an audio track of the first tone, and homophones characters that vary exclusively in their tones. The third and last part, provides a summary of the previous sections along with an explanation about tones; after reading it, your knowledge about the phonological features of Chinese will greatly improve.
