1000+ Thorax Anatomy MCQs is split into 14 topic areas (below). The question difficulty ranges from super-easy and helpful for beginners to detailed and not-at-all obvious. Topic areas have been designed so that the smallest of them (Latin of the Thorax) can be completed in about 10 minutes or less whereas the larger of them (Heart and Great Vessels) may take 40 minutes or longer to complete depending on current knowledge level of the user. The questions have been structure in such a way that learning and memory are reinforced simply by taking the quiz - even if the subject has not yet been studied. The user can choose whether to test themselves or to go back immediately to find out the correct answer. Once the user selects a topic the questions are presented with notification of question number and total questions on the top left of the screen. If the topic has already been completed the most recent score will show in the top right of the screen so that the user knows their self-set target.


It is possible and expected to get 100% in all topics. However, this is very unlikely at first attempt in all but one of the topic areas. The key to using the app successfully is to aim for more than 40% before study, more than 80% after study and then to cycle through it until 100% score is achieved. The user reads the 4 possible answers, one of which often contains a ridiculous option or a hidden reference to some aspect of medicine not directly related to anatomy.

The user simply uses ONE-TOUCH to select the answer and a SECOND-TOUCH to cycle to the next question, immediately getting feedback via 'yes' or 'no'. It is entirely up to the user whether to continue or return for a second look.

Number of Questions per Topic Area
The number of questions for each topic partly reflects the relative importance of the topic and partly reflects that relative usefulness of the information. For example, the importance of the 'Heart and Great Vessels' topic can't be overstated and there are therefore more than 200 questions on this topic.

There are a very small number of 'random' questions thrown in which although directly related to the subject at hand are unlikely ever to be tested. These number less than 14 in the whole app of 1000+ MCQs.
