Military Awards for Android
So the app is good, but it could be better. Such as asking for your rank, your mos, and actually showing your awards on the racks and not having to rebuild them every time would be vast and major improvements. Apple store has a way better app for this and it is free as well.
Need to add AFESR and small arms marksmanship is out of precedence. Please fix. My rack incomplete
Still missing ribbons. Also when I flip my phone to landscape mode the image doesn't enlarge. Not sure if this feature was taken down or if it's my LG V20 phone.
This is one of the coolest apps along with the military ranks app, however, I'm not sure where the developer got the description for the Kuwait Liberation, Kingdom of Kuwait Medal. What does the liberation of Kuwait have to do with the Phillipines or WWII? Need to fix that! Maybe you could add bolo badges or maybe a snapshot of the whole uniform with everything on it.
It's kind of plain and could use some fluff. I'd be a little happier if they just combined a couple apps and charged whatever for it. Add this to PFT/CFT, maybe a projected rotation date, some mar admins, maybe figure out a way to post cutting scores. All I'm saying is it's plain and 1 of 100 apps I have to manage my career.
App needs to be improved. Very basic and also needs the ability to add oak leaves and other awards. Also information about the awards, how they came about(history), what the regulations is on the awards, promotion points associated with the awards, and what regulations say on how to achieve the awards are just a few improvements I'd like to see. I wish I'd hadn't waisted my time downloading the application. Furthermore there are many different awards not listed in the application.
The app is great to have an immediate picture of what your ribbons look like, but what about marksmanship badges, or a medal display? One issue I noticed was with Iraq and Afghanistan deployment medal counts, for every one of those awards, the member gets a star, so if I have three Iraq campaign medals, I would have three stars. Currently it is counted like every other multi-ribbon/medal. Please update! Otherwise it's a great app, thanx
It's an easy to use app. It put my one Air Force award in the right place on my Navy ribbon rack. The only problem is the stars for the ribbons aren't the right sizes (3/16 for NAM and 5/16 for Good Conduct instead of the other way around).
I have served in the Marine Corps as well as the army national guard and so I have earned awards from both branches. I am not able to select all of the awards from the Marine Corps as they are not available on this app as well as several state awards for the national guard. In addition, I have not seen the option to add devices to various awards. I would definitely upgrade my rating with these improvements in mind.
Useful, appears fairly accurate and relatively ready to use. My biggest complaint is there is no "save" feature once you have built a ribbon rack. I guess the only way to keep you're work is to "share" it through another social media AP like FB.
Needs reserve component award ribbons. By state would be nice but as least national awards is important. Also more explanation on how to add other service awards to rack. I had to search and guess since I have army and navy awards I received in the USAF
For those who have not realized it, you can add devices by pressing down pn each individual ribbon. It has a few limitations, such as being unable to have the Army AFRM with all it three devices (hourglass, M, numeral) at the same time. Other than that, a great way to put together and share your achievements.
This really comes in handy. I don't wear my dress/service uniforms very often, so i forget how my ribbons are set. I think it would be sweet if you could have a ribbon set as well. Thank you!
Reseting the ribbons is dumb. Also, Afghan campaign stars for multiple campaigns and oak leaf clusters on awards like 7 AAMs are displayed incorrectly. This app is ok for showing you just the order of ribbons. If you serve during two campaigns in Afghanistan, the ribbon should display with two campaign stars.
I am in the Coast Guard and not everything is accurate. The meritorious team and meritorious unit ribbon in here are the same ribbon. That is not right, the unit is red with blue edges and 4 vertical white stripes. Knowing this, it makes the app hard to trust.
Very well put together and useful to fi d the correct arrangements for service medals. It almost perfect except there should be a "save" option where you add all the awards and medals come together instead of backing out and saving it in the profile menu. But overall "A".
Every time I open the app it asks to create a profile, which I already have. When I create my stack, it places my MUC (usmc) on the right rack. Which is only true if wearing medals... Please fix.
I love how it not only shows the different service medals but how they are earned. I served 10yrs in the Marines and I am now in the Army. This app shows me the presidence of both of my marine and army awards. Thank You.
I would like to be able to put my ribbons in the order that the Virtual MPF displays them. I'm Air Force and several of my ribbons out of order along with not able to put hour glass, a number and a letter on one ribbon. Very pleased with this service and just waiting for updates.
If you served you should know your own age and what ribbons you earned. The ribbons do not indicate cluster/stars/Valor... Recommend author consult with a military service member.
I just can't seem to maneuver around this app. Once you select all your ribbons it seems to be difficult to locate where they are. there should be a button to select and your rack on that page I'm having a problem finding and therefore using this rack to edit additional information please make it more user friendly. thanks
The cold war medal is missing. Please add the option of a 4 wide medals IAW current regulations. Please add the option to display a full size and miniature medal rack. Thank you. This will eliminate service ribbons & only display the medals.
To hard to make correctiond or changes. You always have to start over. Not user friendly.
Haven't found any errors yet....just a few missing items. Also, had to uninstall then install again because the rack would not save.
App is inconsistant shuts down alot. This app runs alot smoother on IOS
AF Exp Service Ribbon with gold Border missing and af traing rib out of sync. Devices not correct. Also rack too small...difficult to hit correct ribbons.
Like the layout, easy to use,but for nam vets you left out part of our nam green and white ribbion with bar, viet nam cross of gallantry, and so on!p.s. thank you.
This is a great idea. .but there's a lot of difference in what you can do using this app vs what you can do on the website. .you can mess with things here on the app that can't be undone without going to the website. .
It is missing Navy warfare specialties i.e. ESWS and E.I.C. badges (leg medals) I can't complete until then.
Works well, no major flaws or problems. Pretty easy to navigate. Picture if ribbon rack transfers to paint without a problem. Well done.
Its nice but ribbons overfill screen making it colored blur. Can't put anything on right side but lists that you are able to. Needs work.
Rcvd awards from Army (MUC), Navy, Joint Service, and foreign. Thank you. Correction of this issue or location of existing instructions would increase the above rating.
Aside from a few of my brothers at arms not being able to add a medal not listed. This app works exactly as described. I can't complain, if you can then you want waay too much out of a free app..
This gives me a quick reference to awards setup on dress uniform in case I have to attend a special event for Military use latter such as VFW or American Legon gatherings ...
Ribbons are small on the HTC one max. Wish they would add the the USMC badges( range, jump, aircrew etc)
Rack size is really small in app. Also the oak leafs are placed wrong on the ribbon. I have 10 aams and it shows 2 bronze then one silver then 2 bronze. It should be 4 bronze and then silver.
Not too bad but needs to ask questions like how many battle e's you have ?How many years you have been in ? .... to know how many bronze stars u should have on certain ribbons or at what point your stars turn silver.
It seems pretty basic, but once you start using it it seems as if it is missing a couple of key components. Certain things like being able 2 simply look up order and reason for each metal that was accumulated during service. Maybe a better profile builder, and a couple more types of information that is a little more extravagant then the typical basic stuff that is being given
An otherwise great ap, but some bug causes the awards to appear multiple times. There's 8 of each under each branch of service and I expect 9 of each next time I open it.
