Phone Finder for Alexa for Android
Where has this been all my life... took me 60 seconds to install and hook to my Alexa! Works perfectly!! All the bad reviews seem to be linked by the order of operation; you have to activate the Skill in the Alexa app first, then install the Phone Finder app... then tell Alexa to Open Phone Finder and put the PIN she gives you into the Phone Finder App (NOT the Alexa App).
1)install Alexa phone finder app on each phone. 2)make sure both phone owners have an amazon account. 3)set up a Household profile in your primary Amazon account making the other phone's owner be the other adult on the account (you can only have 2 adults per household profile). 4)enable the phone finder skill of the primary account. 5)ask Alexa to open phone finder and get pin. 6)enter pin in phone finder app. 7)tell Alexa to switch accounts (other adult on account) 7)repeat steps 4-6 on other phone.
It has instant feed back, however, it only vibrates 3 times and it does not make the phone ring from vibrate/silence when selected to do so. I'd give it a much higher rating if the app did that and could find at least two phones.
Works just as described. You must install the skill on the Echo first. I don't think this was actually mentioned. Just say the command to alexa to launch the skill and your phone rings... that simple. Open/swipe notification area to stop ringing.
Works well so far for 1 phone, but not clear how to unpair, and can't pair more than one device. Would get another star if you could pair multiple devices and have a label you say to ring only that device, as well as set the ringer to maximum on the device.
Love It! My wife "loses" her phone (SGS6) at least 4 times a week. She used to find me and have me call her phone every time. Now it's Alexa's problem! #worthit #wheredoidonate
Very big, even bigly waste of time. Finally got installed and registered. Then I finally got it to ring. Could not get it to stop without restarting phone.
It was very easy to install and pair with the phone. You must first enable the rule on Alexa and then you ask Alexa to "open phone finder". She will then give you a PIN to enter into the application and after that your phone should be paired. Test it and it should be work no problem.
Enabled on alexa but she did not give a pin. Jeeeez please fix or tell us how to correct. Great ides though!
It rings the Galaxy S6 only twice at too low a volume to be helpful. Hope future updates inprove the ap.
They need to either provide better setup instructions or the application just does not work on the Galaxy S7. Or perhaps I have the stupidest Alexa in the world. Hmmmm
after 45 min on the phone with tech support he got it to work then it would not turn off tech guy was at a loss what to do
Finally an echo phone finder solution that doesn't require me to have a phone number. Now if only the dev can allow it to work with multiple phones
Cumbersome procedure to install and directions could be simpler, making it five star worthy.
But what would be better is having my phone keep ringing until i find it instead of it ringing once and i have to tell alexa to find my phone over and over
Subject says it all
Can't understand a red neck Mont. Man
Stopped working on Note 3. Only sends me a message which is useless.
App won't recognize my pin
No way to troubleshoot this problem
Worked great on my Samsung Galaxy S5 when my phone is on vibrate it will ring like the app says it will
Phone rings once, then vibrates 3 times, then nada. S5
Can't get it to work. Won't ring.
Simple to set up and use. Just what I needed
If you misplace your phone often_ you want this app! Trust me!
System rejected pin?????
Works great
Almost instant feeback after asking Alexia to open friend finder. Even tried when my phone was turned to silent and Alexia and this app were able override it. Great app and very usefull!
Linked my phone to Alexa, but it will not ring with the comand.
I linked my Galaxy S5 with the pin Alexa provided. Then I asked Alexa to turn on Find my Phone. My phone rang continually, over and over. I could not find anywhere to halt the ringing. I had to power down my phone to make it stop. What trick am I missing?
This app works fine once paired to your phone but it is limited in that you can only use it with one phone. As a 4 phone house, this limitation basically makes it useless for us.
Does what it says. Note that if you have profiles enabled on Alexa you must be in a profile with the skill enabled of Alexa just silently ignores the request.
I enables the app. Put in the pin. Alexa said it must be ringing. Tried it a couple of times. Must be ringing. But I don't hear anything. This app needs some work. But good idea
Only vibrates really should do loud ring even if in silent mode. No way to associate multiple lines with request.
The app works, it's a bit tricky to get alexia to get you set up with the pin to begin. Once you finally do it does work, it will ring your phone 3 times, but sadly if it's in vibrate or silent it week just vibrate 3 times (or nothing if on silent). I've used the Samsung watch to find my phone and it will ring obnoxious loud even on silent, this is a must have for an app like this. Getting the kids to simmer down to hear a vibration is. If it airways mad the phone ring 5 star for sure, !
Galaxy s5 doesn't work at all
Great idea! However it's a pain because my Avant just keep ringing and ringing until I shut it off.
Doesnt connect or have pin or do anything. Absolutely horrible
Doesn't do what it says with Galaxy S5, won't give pin number.

It works great with my Note 3. I like that it continues to sound and vibrate until I turn it off via the notification bar on my phone. It gives me all the time I need to find my phone, unlike just calling my cell phone from another phone. I would give it 5 stars if you could pair more than one cell phone with Alexa.
