It's very useful, and it's ok, but when you play the music it would be awesome if you all put in the notification curtain the little album picture with the details of the song ( song's name and album). The same thing on the lock screen. BTW it works very very good, I have never had a crash while playing or big bugs, but those little things with the design could make it perfect!

Lots of potential here and a great perk for my prime membership. But unless you listen only to contemporary top 40, a ton of their back catalogue are "royalty free" covers and not the original recordings. If all Amazon can provide are generic karaoke versions of classic tunes they'd be better off not providing them at all until they make more deals with labels and expand their catalogue. The app also needs to give the user more control over data consumption / bit rate settings.

This is the best app for downloading and listening to music I think. It has just about every song you want. It works great without internet connection if you have that song downloaded to your device. Easy to make playlist. Also if you don't like to take the time to find and download songs, you can just put it on a station. It has all the new releases section, and much more. It's great for me. The only complaint I have is that the monthly price is a lol to high. Still worth it for the money.

Sometimes songs will skip for a second. I think it's usually on offline mode. When browsing music and you try to hit the stacked dot button to open the menu to download something, you can start to play the song if you tap just slightly to the right of the button. That button should extend to the end of the screen. You might as well place a really tiny play button there if that is by design.

As an Amazon prime member the monthly fee is too stiff. I can purchase better music capabilities for that price elsewhere. Please lower the price amazon membership price and also reward accumulated time for even a lower price! I love working and enjoying the benefits of Amazon prime. Let's not ruin a good thing! Very Respectfully, Kenneth & Sheryl Watson USN (ret)

App for Prime is great. I'm trying out Amazon Unlimited -not worth it!! It's very limited. I looked up lots of songs I've been wanting, but they don't carry it. Though I can download songs, if I want to keep them when Amazon I will still have to physically buy the song/album. I teach exercise classes. I need songs! And I need radio versions- clean lyrics!!!!

A few updates later, still a poor music player. Imagine this, you just bought your fav album. Now you want to set the album as a Playlist because you just want to listen to that album. Unfortunately, Amazon didn't out a way to easily make entire album a Playlist. You have to add each song. Amazon should add more sorting options too, so new albums go top to make thus easier.

UPDATE: Be forewarned...if you change your Amazon password, you may lose access to all of the downloaded music you may have saved on your device. If you're looking to find new artists you enjoy, Amazon's music app is not ideal. The recommendations they provide are very limited and circular, so you don't really get to discover new artists, and that sucks. This is true of Amazon prime music in general, not just this app, to be honest.

I'm only in the trial period, and I like it! I just moved from Apple to BlackBerry! I love the user interface compared to that of Apple Music. Also, I haven't searched for a song and not found it. That's a definite plus, I've even started streaming in my office with Alexa. The only thing is. When you pay for Prime, and Audible, AND Music Unlimited...The Amazon Invoice starts to look like a second phone bill. Maybe there should be a service bundle.

Did not expect Amazon music to be stellar since Amazon Prime Video has some drawbacks, but Amazon music seems to be pretty great! Pros: closest thing to Songza since its demise. Easy to use interface Minnie songs and genres to choose from Cons: more music is available from the premium section but it's not actively advertising this premium content like it does in Amazon Prime video

So far so good. Love that you can upload your own songs to fill the gaps. Edit: Bluetooth buffering hangs are driving me nuts. With offline local music, I should not be buffering but this app does when playing through bluetooth. Please dix this. My phone has plenty of horsepower and no other apps have this issue.

GUI not great. The black background isn't ideal (unless you're visually impaired). Would be nice to be able to change this. Sometimes it takes ages to load a page. To be honest on its own it would not be worth the subs. As an extra to prime TV and free home deliveries, its OK but overall still buggy and intermittent. In it's current format then I would not pay extra to subscribe.

I use this app 24/7. It is exceedingly easy to use. It's not flawless but it is probably better than any other app I have ever used for anything ever. It looks great, it works great. I am a person that is regularly pissed at most of my tech and Amazon Music is like my app equivalent of a woobie. Lol A comfort to my soul amongst all the chaos.

I love Amazon Music. The selection is pretty amazing for Prime. I only have issues with two things. First, the music will cut in and out or stop completely. Second, if you want to delete an album from a playlist, you have to individually take off each song. It gets especially irritating when the album(s) is no longer a prime music option and you have to delete about 30 to 50 songs off your list. I use the app almost daily, and I still love it after experiencing both of those issues, so try it out if you are interested.

I like that it is easy to maneuver through and has a lot of selections. I don't like how you can only buy certain songs by purchasing the entire album. Also, the one song that I did purchase disappeared from my purchased items list so I had to buy it again. When I tried to buy it again, is only giving me the option to buy the entire album for $8.49 and I only want to buy the one song.

I love how you can download songs to your device from Prime. Prime pays for itself in saved phone data for me. Not to mention I am addicted to 2 day shipping. Update 12/14/2017: Still love the app, but have one improvement that would make my day. If you could download music to an Android Wear device it would be amazing. I want to use my smart watch and Bluetooth headphones for music while I exercise. Currently the only way to make that happen is to manually load mp3 files, and use the built-in player which is a hassle. Jeff Bezos you'd be my hero, and have my undying loyalty if you made it happen!

It's okay. They really need to increase the library though. There's such a huge market that can't be found on there. Some of my favourite artists just don't exist in their library, which is disappointing. If there were more artists to listen to, this app would get an amazing rating!

very nice but I am tired of being bombarded by hidden traps that are always trying to trick me into joining unlimited. I tried unlimited and did not like the format at all. I have been a prime member for years and I am happy with what I have. Back off the pressure to sell me what I don't want. Otherwise, great app, great product.

The interface has improved, still not great. Why can't I swipe to change sings? Paying for "Unlimited" is tough to swallow when I'm already paying for Prime. Doing 4 months for $1, then will likely cancel. Gapless ought to be standard by now. Music selection is meh. I would LOVE to turn OFF the lyrics. Bloody annoying.

Finally a streaming service that deserves a full five stars! So far so great. Clean and functional UI combined with a great catalogue and good personal recommendations. Audio quality good but volume level between tracks in playlists uneven: sometimes too low, next song too loud. This is so far my only complaint.

I70%
by I####:

App is not quite as intuitive as I'd like. More ability to customize would be nice too. Doesn't 'remember' what I've been listening too most of the time. Not app's fault but service only lets one person at a time stream unless you pay costly monthly upgrade. Standard subscription services typically allow two, such as Netflix.

U70%
by U####:

I love the app and it's compatibility with my Alexa, BUT I don't like that I can't start playing a song in my app and essentially cast it to Alexa. On Spotify I can just select "play on my echo dot" and it will play there instead of my phone. I have to search it then say the name to Alexa and it just makes the process longer.

R70%
by R####:

It is perfect just the way it is. If anyone should suggest changing it, stirring it around or some such otherwise...let's say if it ain't messed up, do not fix it. It is my only oasis among snake oil salesmen, bunco-steerers, conjurers and fakirs. Please just leave it alone...it needs no improving.

I found this app to be less intuitive than other similar apps. I spent an hour creating playlists by using the menu on the radio stations, only to find thst no playlists wete actually created and nothing was added to "my music". Still rated high due to the extensive song selection. I guess i need to read more about how to use the.apps since the logical method did not work...

I had to cancel a Napster subscription and a friend told me about Amazon Music. I've had Amazon Prime for nearly 2 years and never knew about This! I LOVE it!! I was paying $9.99 a month for mediocre playlists and now I feel as though I have awesome playlists for FREE every month! (Yes, I know it's not free and that it actually is part of my Prime Membership). Love it!

A good app, which allows you to listen tp a wide genre of music. My kids love the fact that the lyrics to the song can be played. Sometimes the app can freeze and it requires a restart. Lots of potential though. If it was even less to subscribe too, this could certainly surpass Spotify.

Use to be super awesome until they made those unlimited changes. So many of the songs I use to listen to on deployment as a prime member, I no longer have access to without paying yet another monthly fee. So disappointing... but still a good app.

It's an ok music app, it seriously needs a graphic equaliser for better music enjoyment. One thing that I found let's it down is if I remove my SD card from my phone and re-insert it I loose my playlists, or at least the tracks saved on them.

R70%
by R####:

All hype, no substance! Very, VERY disappointed so far. Doesn't import playlists properly. On every device the same list, if imported at all, has different songs. On my pc using the app, it created two of each list, and the two lists are different from each other and from those on my tablet and phone (which also differ from each other). The Roku app is a total joke; terrible with only a fraction of the songs available. Next up, about 10% of the songs don't actually play, and another 10% are the wrong song (the title says it's one song, but another actually plays). LASTLY, offline songs sputter and stop frequently.

Very well done app for listening to music. Good layout, the family plan is a great feature as well. One of the highlights of this app is the fact that you can not only listen to stations like Pandora but you can also pick individual songs and even make personalized playlists.

I really love this app! I would have given 5 stars if i wad able to start/stop or skip when not in the application it self. I guess you'd call it a widget so that if the screen times out you can still navigate.

Awesome app. Great clarity in music. This app just keeps getting better especially now that you have the ability to use alexa. The x-ray feature is also great. There are so many song that i swore i knew the words to that I didn't.

by R####:

It would be awesome if it let you download to your device instead of the cloud. There is no need to download if it won't save you data. Other apps just stopped working if your subscription runs out. With this app it uses up my data playing things that I have downloaded which defeats the purpose

Generally, I like this app and love to be able to access all of my Amazon Music and locally stored files. My only issue is that it occasionally closes, sometimes it continues to play music and sometimes not. I've verified it was not the battery saver function on my GS7, so I'll keep an eye on future updates.

by R####:

Right now I submitted a 5 star because they have Christian music and a great variety of songs with the lyrics. However for the past few days every time a song plays it tells me that it is also playing on 10 other devices and it stops working. It will play a song then give me an error I hit okay and then it will play another song and it will give me an error and I have to hit okay I'm not happy with it today

R70%
by R####:

Amazon Prime Music was better prior to Amazon creating 'Unlimited'. They stripped Prime Music of certain songs and placed them on the 'Unlimited' side. So music you used to get free with Prime now costs an additional $7 for 'Unlimited'. I think that's bogus. As much money as Amazon makes they want to charge us more for our favorite songs. I'm not happy.

R70%
by R####:

This should be a five start review. Good music selection, good playlists. However, you are unable to select what music you want and 'cast' it to your Amazon Echo speakers! Other apps, which asren't Amazon based (Spotify) seem able to do this, why can't this?

M70%

Full of glitches bugs, and internet problems that lose my music and make previously downloaded material stop working. I only keep it because I have Prime, but this has been across 3 different phones now. It's annoying. When it works, it's great, but I always feel like I have to learn quirks with the software.

Killed any semblance of Christmas music! Total failure. Christ music is one in three! You ignore the past, live the present like there is only you, & a future of division. Besos fails to hear his(italics) words of promise.

N70%

This app earns its high rating by letting you easily set up playlists that you can stream from your Alexa or listen to offline. I like to take a waterproof phone with me into the wilderness. Sometimes the signal out there is non existent, so I just download my favorite playlists. And when I am at home, I will just ask Alexa to play a playlist or songs by Lady Gaga. Boom instant gratification.
