What are users saying about Amazon Chime

Needs video calling like the iOS app

Y70%
by Y####:

I need swipe gestures to move between sections. For big screen devices, it's tough to tap on top to navigate between sections. I want to have like Facebook messenger navigation experience on Chime.

Y70%
by Y####:

Notifications never works. Too many clicks need to be done for simple operations.

Y70%
by Y####:

Superb app.. Can you provide GoToMeeting like features with this... I'll definitely use this more efficiently.

Y70%

No video calling on Android

by J####:

Powerful, simple, and secure. My team uses it every day.

W70%
by W####:

The UI takes a lot of clicks to see (or even be aware of) recent messages, and I seem to get logged out frequently without notice.

Y70%
by Y####:

Extremely clunky. Should have never put this on the market until it was Complete product.

Y70%
by Y####:

I can't see any difference but the theme.

Y70%
by Y####:

Not ready for primetime. This will not compete with gotomeeting until participants can join anonymously without amazon login.

Not a polished product didn't find it very intuitive or easy to use it also crashed a few times

Sign up process is WAY off base. I'm a dedicated Amazon user in numerous technical areas and found it challenging to understand why a separate login was required. I didn't complete the setup process because of it and would hesitate to use the service if colleagues/partners/prospects had to, in any way, sign up to use the service at first. Not sure how you'll monetize this otherwise bit it's a crucial element to the "ease of use" marketing about Chime that I've seen in the media these past few days. Keep working on it!!

Tried creating an account using my email account used for calendering, only to be brought to a screen asking if I wanted to a) use my Amazon account or b) create an Amazon account. This is confusing - I gave you the email alias I want to use, so just create the account ok? More troublesome is that this means I will end up with a 3rd (or 4th) Amazon account. Ugh. Should be able to add multiple email alias.

Trying this out today. Seems to work for everything except video on my end. I do not see any way to activate video on my android phone. A co-worker was able to use his iphone with the video option. The iphone seems to have a video icon which I do not have on my Galaxy S7 edge.

Y70%
by Y####:

As another user stated, the account creation/login process is confusing. Also, there does not appear to be an option to have video conferencing in the Android app. The video works fine in Windows, but does not show for the android users, also android users have no option to show video. However, the screen sharing from Windows to Android did work. If the video is fixed and the sign up/in process is improved this could be a slam dunk...

K70%
by K####:

UI is simple to be sure but I too could not get the video to work or even find how to set it up on Android. I agree account creation is awkward and confusing.

K70%
by K####:

15 minutes in my life that will not come back - if you can't open an account then you don't pass Go. Not having an ability to open an account using your email and being sent around in circles is frustrating and a waste of time

Y70%
by Y####:

Can't figure out how to import my contacts or get my camera to work (two cameras and both look like still image only)

Y70%
by Y####:

Audio is too clear, better than any communication app. And what I loved is simplicity of UI. Expecting more features in upcoming upgrades. A great app, potential competitor

K70%
by K####:

Not ready for prime time. Invitations that I sent only included a download link, no meeting id or means to actually join the meeting. No video option (that I could find) on android.

Y70%
by Y####:

Forced to use an Amazon account? Really? What happened to just sign up using any email account? Bate and switch that's what I say... Useless!

Y70%
by Y####:

Why does the app need permanent permission for almost everything when Android now offers permission prompts as needed?

G70%
by G####:

You need to improve the front end login to distinguish between Amazon and AWS

Y70%
by Y####:

Only one question, with Skype , whatsapp, hangouts.,face time...What's the point yet with one more of these?

Y70%
by Y####:

Forced to use Amazon account. Should be able to sign in using any email where calendar is associated.

Y70%
by Y####:

Can't use video on android mobile. Otherwise looks promising.

Y70%
by Y####:

Excellent audio, chime = <3

Y70%

Attempting to sign into amazon and just get a spinning yellow circle
