radian for Android
Like many people here, I too have a broken app. I've given them a year now to fix it, and nothing. For me, I can't download firmware updates because the app shuts down Bluetooth and then asks to enable it, and then repeats this cycle forever. Unfortunately this is a company that really halfassed a simple product, and chose not to stand behind it. Don't buy a Radian, wait for the new wave of timelapse compatible gimbals. Also, I don't use the Radian to trigger the shutter. Like other reviews have mentioned, it'll do some triggers and then just stop. I'll get about 200 triggers before it stops triggering, regardless of the timelapse duration remaining.
Still waiting for an updated version of this app that will upgrade firmware. Still stuck on version 11. Seems the app cannot control the bluetooth connection correctly
Terrible customer service. Allowed me to purchase an item that is out of stock and may never become available again. Didnt inform me of this after waiting 4 weeks for my order. I had to chase it myself.
The app has never really functioned reliably. It currently asks for permission to turn bluetooth on constantly, but seems to actually be turning it off. It is slow, and crashes frequently. The connection to the radian is very inconsistent.
Have been using Radian 1 and 2 timelapse devices for a long time now, and love them, when they work right. Best balance of advanced customization and simplicity / portability compared to the competing devices.
Since December I have had 2 very expensive paperweights. When is there an update coming.
Can Alpine Lab resolve the aldy 3 mths software issue for Olympus camera as unable to update and only timelapse function. ***after 3 mths still no solution*** can we get a refund??
The setting for interval between photos won't change from 2sec. Have updated my Radian2 to the latest firmware but no change. Waste of money at this point.
Still can't update firmware on R2. It's such a shame as the R1 is an awesome bit of kit. Time for a refund I think alpine labs. This thing is no better than a brick.
some improvements after updating Radian software: finally able to make both the Radian 2 units move! BUT most of the time they can move one at a time - the app usually does not detect both together for some reason. also, after I putting settings and preparing to send instructions to Radian 2 works, but the app does not send instructions to the unit. in short: STILL unable to take timelapses. needless to say, this is extremely frustrating. still hoping Alpine will be able to sort this out.
Radian 2 would stop triggering after a few shots. Now unable to charge or even power up after firmware update.

Unable to pilot Radian2
Application immediately crashes when I open the app on HTC1, and Acer Tablet. This is a bummer. I have updated to the new version as of 12/16. The app now work.
I get paranoid it's not communicating with my phone correctly. make sure those cords are plugged in tight!
App immediately crashes and I have not been able to use it. Samsung Note 5. Will have to return the idem for a refund through amazon. Also the Radian 2 I received is defective, it only spins counter clock wise, after 5 full rotations I shut it off.
App Crashes immediately after opening with stock Nexus 6. If I buy >$200 device that can only be controlled by an app, that app HAS to work! No excuse.
Unit arrived today, bummed to find out the unit is useless without this app
A great companion to my radian. New features have been added since my first install. Have always been stable and useful with both my Android devices..
Nope. Doesn't work. Tried two different Android devices.

Radian is a great product. I use it daily for a variety of projects. Works great in tandem with a slider. A simpler bulb ramp setup would be awesome- All you would need to input is 'sunset time', and everything else would be calc automatically based on current time.
The functions of the app are quite good and easy to navigate although selecting a time using a pick list scroller is a bit tedious. The ramping feature is only available in 5 min increments and the position calculator doesnt take in any start delay or ramping into account. I've only had one really concerning time where the radian wasn't getting instructions but that was easily solved, missed a sunset though. Tip: make sure the headphone volume is turned up when uploading, but the app *should* override. Maybe in a future release?

The app itself is very well made, and although its quirky if you want to stop something mid-shooting it's not difficult to figure out. I wish there were an option to put the settings in seconds as well as minutes and hours. I understand that time lapses are usually much longer but having that extra level of customizable features would make it all the better.
Radian does not stop rotating and does not accept uploads. Read faqs no solution.
i turn on the radian and it just moves without me uploading anything to it.. and after i upload, it doesnt run the uploaded presets. When i plug in my camera, it just takes 1 frame every second..

Hasn't worked properly on Android since it was originally released. Can't control my Radian, no error messages at all, buttons just don't do anything even though its connected correctly. Radian just spins all by itself, can't stop it from moving or start a new timelapse.
