Groundhog Usenet Reader for Android
Menu does not work on GS7/Marshmallow. No way to get to it. Worked fine on GS4/Kitkat. Automatic notification does not always work. Cannot mark article as unread. No way to respond to a post.
SSL support nonfunctional. Base64 decode failures cause a whole group to be unusable (rather than skipping that article)
Usenet veterans will find their way around this app ok. Binary leechers may as well use a desktop. Needs more powerful filtering though. No damned advertising which is worth an extra star.
What happened to the reply button? This app works great on my smart phone. I used to be able to reply to posts from my tablet to, but now there's no reply button anywhere.
Crashes when opening comp.sys.raspberry-pi. No way to reorder groups.
Crap. Doesn't even start up.
This is an excellent nntp reader. I use it occasionally and it does the job all right. There are a few minor things that I miss though: a dark scheme, support for more than one nntp server and downloading only headers. But overally it's already very nice, fast and stable - keep up!

No updates for nearly two years? Dead.
I have been reading Usenet on PC for many years. Groundhog was easy to set up and is a nice user interface. Very good indeed.
Should not download the full article but only the headers at first. Don't know the other problems because uninstalled immediately.
No yenc which is all binary images or mpg files. I give it a minus 5
Crafts every time I try to search for a group. Using giganews.
Connects to news server but can't find newsgroups
Makes it easy to keep up with the Monastery while on the road.
Pity that the app's been abandoned :(
Works okay until you realize you can't sort it, not even by date. Please fix. However, other than that, it is a good client.
Ia like it. But we dont have a way tosort the threads.
Can't see any point in this app - seems to have no way of managing articles.
I can post a new thread, but the app crashes if I reply to a post. Crashes on help as well.
Doesn't connect to any astraweb server, needs to give a more specific error instead of just blaming the user
Don't bother wi
Works well. Nice array of features.
Buggy version, does not tefresh messages in subscrined groups. Not very good on HTC WILDFIRE!
This is the cat's pajamas.
Not perfect, but overall the best Android usenet reader available. The author is very responsive to feedback and comments.
Not as polished as I would hope for but allows me to keep up when away.
Force close when searching for a group...
Useless, crashes every time I search for groups.
Too many missing features for serious newsgroup use.
Does not connect to server
Cannot sort group lists. Cannot DL binaries. Add these features and you just might have something!

Main complaint is that I cannot search messages ..fulll message/replies are there too, rather than headers . so too much space is used up. Took agess to find Settings, this is an icon of a few strips at bottom of tablet, with other Android icons eg "home" tab and screenshot tab, not within prog.itself.
Only downloads full articles, not just headers. Downloads OLDEST articles first. Takes FOREVER to get to current articles. Optimus V
Usable offline mode ideal if only using wifi. Very good for a free product and if your use is for chatting not binaries in a small number of groups. Also helps cut down crosspost conflagrations.

I find the UI tb visually ugly and am unable to find any means to collapse threads.....And downloading all bodies all the time is a nuisance.
Works well, but sometimes a bit clunky - option to view collapsed thread list would be useful.
