About Allworx Reach

Allworx Reach brings the rich functionality of your Allworx phone to your mobile device. Create a SIP handset to place and receive calls, including Transfer, Park, and 3-way conference. You'll have easy access to Contacts (Allworx directory, personal, and contacts shared from other apps) and Call History, including Allworx users' Presence and Busy Lamp Field status. Manage your voicemails.

Reach 3.0 adds the ability to share Contacts with your Allworx Verge phone, as well control your Allworx Verge phone from your mobile device. Allworx server version 8.2 is required for these advanced features.

*** This app REQUIRES access to an Allworx server running software version 7.5 or higher -- and 7.5.10.4 or higher is strongly recommended. ***

See the website (http://get.allworx.com/reach) for a link to FAQs (http://get.allworx.com/reach/reach_faq.aspx) including information on performance on specific Android devices.

What are users saying about Allworx Reach

It seems to work okay, except for the constant "ding" sounds that occur during calls. The person on the other end can hear it as well. What is causing this?

N70%
by N####:

If you have an Android Wear watch, the Allworx Reach app rings silently on phone screen, so I am constantly missing Reach calls. Please update your app so your watch rings/vibrates when a Reach call is coming in!

B70%
by B####:

When I'm connected to wifi I get stuck at registering 90% of the time. If I turn off wifi it registers right away. Please fix.

N70%
by N####:

We recently installed this system at work and The app works decent to a point. But the bluetooth issues are just beyond aggravating . If i am on my headset talking to someone and the app rings. It cuts the bluetooth off on my phone. I then have to put the phone up to my ear so i take my bluetooth off to continue my conversation. Then if i get another phone call on the app it switches back on the headset.

B70%
by B####:

This app is neat in that it mirrors your office with calls, voicemails, extensions, etc. Both your office office and the app replicate simultaneously. Problem is office quality is terrible delays, can't hear you and eats battery.... I have a Samsung edge S7 and kills my battery in less than one day

N70%
by N####:

When the app works on my Samsung Note 4,it works good BUT that doesn't happen very often. It rings and connects but no sound or mic???????? I restart my Samsung and immediately it works again for only a couple of hours.

N70%
by N####:

Works about 20% of the time, most of the time I can't make calls and can't answer incoming calls.

DEAN OF COMMUNICATIONS

N70%

Please implement a setting where the app can open and close automatically depending on a user defined schedule. Reach is a major battery hog and it would be great if it would turn itself off after my work day is over.

U70%

Was told it was a Samsung Galaxy s issue not the program. It's useless and sounds like a robot. Please fix this or send new phones to all your customers

P70%

The audio does not work since update. I can now only use speaker phone. Terrible.

L70%
by L####:

This app works great. Yes you have to have adequate network to support it but it works fantastic. Driving a Ferrari on a dirt road will not be a smooth ride but you cant blame the Ferrari.

O70%
by O####:

Works most of the time. Sometimes has a really bad delay between the caller and me, and sometimes the app will just force close and end a call without any warning. I have to switch offline when I'm not using it or it'll drain my battery throughout the day, which is frustrating. It just seems clunky and in need of modernization.

Drains the battery too fast.

Quality is poor, the person in the other end cannot hear me, I'm using a Samsung Curve 6, I guess it needs updates

Z70%
by Z####:

On droid maxx we have to hit audio. route button before caller can hear us after we've hit accept button. * This has been solved in version 2.0.4.234 Thank you.

X70%
by X####:

Call quality is terrible, and now it won't properly display voice mail. Sometimes, it just fails to ring. Horrible software to match their second rate hardware. Pure junk.

Q70%
by Q####:

Fails to connect often. Horrible Sunday quality 50% of the time.

X70%
by X####:

2.0.4.225 fixed my connection issues. Unfortunately my woes with severe digital distortion of voices continue.

X70%
by X####:

Works well intermittently

X70%
by X####:

I like the app, the recent update fixed some of our problems, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE enable an option to NOT have the app start up on phone startup. Sometimes my phone reboots without me knowing and then the Reach app starts up and KILLS my battery in a couple hours. This app should not be required to start up automatically, I don't need it every day, only when I want it should it run.

X70%
by X####:

App keeps getting better and better. Started using it on the new Connect server and love the seamless transition from WiFi to cellular and back. Nothing competes with this app for the price.

X70%

App was crashing... Did a factory reset and works great! Best thing allworx has done. Total game changer!

Since installing the app, I have found it doesn't work with my car Blue tooth. In fact it screws up my regular phone usage with Blue tooth. STILL DOESN'T WORK IN MY CAR WITH BLUETOOTH.

T70%

Doesn't work consistently. People can't hear me when I call. Very unwieldy. Killed my Google voice search. App freezes all the time. Using w Android.

D70%
by D####:

Most of the phone's features work fine, except people on the other end are unable to hear you, rendering this app completely useless. - Support has nothing to say. ° brand new Galaxy Note 3 °

Really impressed by this technology and the app. It looks well polished and haven't had any issues yet. App is a good selling point for the allworx system

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and Reach works well, even with 3g speeds.

Using this app is not free - you must pay for a valid license for each client that connects to your Allworx VOIP server (around $100 each or maybe less, depending on how many licenses you purchase). Same problems that other have been experiencing since March of 2014 - I doubt IOS user's concerns are being ignored. When bluetooth is activated in the app, it hijack's your car's bluetooth and does not release it even when your call ends. So you can't go back to listening to your radio, navigation or anything else. Android has Onhook and Offhook built into the API, why not use it? It's easier to manually toggle the bluetooh when placing calls, but that's still not easy enough! Also, just having Reach installed on your phone slows it down. Time to switch between apps, go to home screen, even to switch pages or tabs within other apps is slowed significantly. Removing the app speeds the phone up. I tested two brand new phones side by side, one with Reach installed, one without. Guess which one had no delays? Not to mention the UI is just horrific ugly skinned junk. Useless permanent icon in the notification drawer. Have to go the app to clear missed calls.

Please see Joel Ehrlich's. Comments from March 2014. We have about 20sip handsets in use. Everyone agrees with Joel's. Comments. We also have lots of dropped or garbled calls in office high bandwidth WiFi environment. We really need this app to work, please work on it.

This soft phone is almost there. It has a couple of hiccups which a serious enough to prevent full deployment. First, when a call comes in, the answer/ignore dialog comes up as a small pop-up. If you touch anywhere else on the touchscreen the dialog goes out of scope and disappears. It is then not obvious how to answer the call, which continues to ring. You have to open the Reach application and touch a small blue handset icon. This is especially inconvenient if the phone is locked. It would be far superior to have the ringer take over the whole screen with the only active areas being the accept & ignore touch keys. Second, hands free Bluetooth seems only partially implemented. Two-way voice works during a call, but the remote off-hook function does not, so you still have to pick up the phone to answer. Then, after a call, the phone does not release control from the car, so there is no car radio until one pulls over and Quits the Reach application. Off- and on-hook are part of the Android API, but it appears the Reach team did not take advantage. This will be an excellent app, but it's not there yet.

Broken or no audio at all. Setup with both internal & external IP's and lose audio on registration. If audio quality was good it's a killer app.
