AllergyEats for Android
This app has steadily improved in functionality and ease of use. It's really handy for locating restaurants that are worth checking out, leaving helpful feedback for other food allergic travelers and picking between chain locations if there are multiple in a city. Sometimes one restaurant is more knowledgeable than another even among the same chain. We had this experience in a larger city recently and we're able to pick which chain location to eat at based on this app's reviews. It was as good as we had read. Thanks allergy eats!
I installed and checked out the local restaurants. Literally half they listed were closed. And no way from the app to easily tell the developers. Plus another two had moved to a different avenue. Useless. I deleted it. FindMeGlutenFree is what I will continue to rely on. Plus the app is awful sluggish.
Just downloaded the App. My son has numerous food allergies which I added to the profile. When I searched for restaurants near a park we would be visiting, Dunkin Donuts is listed. This chain is not remotely allergy friendly. They have signs posted everywhere stating all of their products may contain food allergens.
We are able to make informed decisions about where we can go out to eat based on other people's experiences. This is a great app, easy to use and navigate.
Love this app, we always check it before we go out to eat
I can't have tomatoes, not a choice here
Finally an app to help us find restaurants that can accommodate us on the road! The fixes and enhancements in the latest version have made this even better and faster. Love it!!!
This is crowd sourced info so it's only as helpful as users who add restaurants and rate them (and thoroughness of the rating/review). If the issues were addressed then there would be more restaurants and more quality ratings. I routinely try to rate restaurants and get an error after completing the form and trying to submit. It says the token has expired. Also, you add your allergies *after* the Optional Comments so many people don't do this. I also submitted to add restaurants & still aren't there.
My girlfriend has a severe shellfish allergy. It is great to know where we can go and what restaurants are accommodating.
A lot easier to use than the older version. The interface is a lot cleaner and easier to navigate. The screens load much faster too.
If you're traveling with food allergies and want to dine out, this is a "must have" app with no alternative. The newest version has so many more great features, making it easier to dine out comfortably. Prior performance issues have been fixed, making this very fast and very reliable!
Won't search without force closing. Useless app.
Downloaded & it doesn't work. Can't sign in, search for restaurants, or add location. Waste of time!!!
I typed in my cities information when searching, and instead of giving Canadian options, it gave American options but most of those options are unrated allergy wise. Yes this would be helpful when I go to Washington state, but it isn't helpful if I am looking for somewhere to eat near by with friends.
Stops and forces me to reboot. Uninstalled.
Tried this once before a while ago due to several food allergies. Had way to many problems and uninstalled. Now, read that the problems had been fixed...They haven't! Tried 3 cities, had no listings. Have to keep going back and putting in your allergies, town, etc. Even when their is a rating, often it only talks about one allergy. This is a great idea, but needs lots of improvement, and until then I am uninstalling again; and that's the truth!
I love the website! But this app won't download, so I can't give it 5 stars until I can actually use it.
The app requires you to log in each time you open. It also requires you to fill in the same field each time you want to rate. That slows me down so I don't rate. It isn't easy, so it doesn't get done. Apparently a lot of people feel that way because it has very few ratings, most places are unrated. It does not allow a rater to identify his or her allergy or to sort ratings by allergy. If it was more like yelp it would be useful.
Very helpful, especially when traveling or wanting to try new places.
A pretty worthless app since it relies totally on users doing the research and you can't search for restaurants that can accommodate your allergy.
The love of my life suffers from severe soy allergies. Dinning out is always a hassle but now this helps bring us closer and have her feel normal and happy. ..
We travel a lot and have a son with multiple food allergies. I wish I had heard about this site and app sooner! It has great info and is easy to use. I like that it will search for restaurants using GPS (sometimes, on road trips, we have no idea what the name of the town is or even if there are any restaurants nearby... so this is a handy feature). Thank you!!
It does not have all the places we eat at, but it does have the information we want to know on all the others. GPS does not do this and it is great for on the go trips!
Use it and post reviews everyone! Eating Paleo...
If you're traveling with food allergies and want to dine out, this is a "must have" app with no alternative.
This just gives me a bunch of restaurants.....the links don't work, it's very disappointing.
Have it on the wife's phone too... More users/ratings make a better app, so tell your friends & family!
I love it
This is ok. This app could have a better interface. In addition, it could make use of my gps location fir finding restaurants.
Although I really like this app and that it covers a lot of allergens, I would like to see more bakeries included in the direct restaurant listing.
Wonderful site. The information is great and extremely helpful.
Very convenient, easy to use, and informative.
Hard to navigate, most links don't work and when they do, it doesn't go straight to the allergy guide
Its worthless here. Tried to add restaurant couldn't. I did not like the fact I had to be a member and fill out a questionaire. I should just click my area and allergies and see what I want and uninstall or reinstall if I want without passwords and stuff.
I live in Charleston, SC. This app has a long list of restaurants for my area - at least half of which are closed/out of business. It may be a good app for some but not for my area.
Couldn't even get it working.

Very disappointing my daughter has a severe dairy allergy, which I put into the app, and the first 5 places on the list are local pizza joints. No vegan cheese at these places. My wife will just continue compiling our own hand written list. Not useful app.
