CoPilot RV USA- GPS Navigation for Android
ETA estimates, or trip times seem to be way off. Seriously needs a way to input your own max speed as a preference. The exit number or street absolutely needs to be spoken. Critical when heavy traffic and unable to look at app. Interfacing with other apps ie; Gas Buddy or similar is hit or miss and trying to search/navigate while driving is just asking for trouble. Call it 2.5 stars.
I am not happy with this app. After missing a turn it kept telling me to turn right where there was no road. I wouldnt have left this review but cannot find where to get my refund. Please refund my subscription. Thank you
I bought this because I thought it would be "smarter" about keeping me from entering low bridge areas. The app puts an icon where the bridge is, but it doesn't sound an alert or proactively let me know that I'm headed to a restriction..
So, just got back from our 2 week trip and I used this app exclusively for the trip as it was with our 33 foot trailer. It is a good app but still needs improvement, number one for me would be text to speech street names! The old "turn right or left ahead" is too antiquated, just about all the apps and GPS units say the street names, this needs it too! Even Google maps says the road and street names now. and has for quite awhile. Each update has improved, but more is needed especially for the cost.
The maximum length you can enter is 45 feet, which is the maximum legal length for a MOTORHOME in the U.S. A travel trailer plus tow vehicle is limited to 65 feet in most states. ALK support will tell you you are a TRUCK, not an RV, if your tt rig is over 45 feet, and should buy their truck software. I wish someone had told me this before I paid! I still wouldn't buy their truck software but I would have saved 60 bucks! I'll buy a good gps unit instead. Nice try, guys, but you need to learn a lot more.
Better routing than phone maps. Routed my trip to Tybee Island with my android phone map app. Routed the return with CoPilot. Much easier getting through Savanah with CoPilot. Wish it would include the street name when approaching a turn.
It's a good app. I'm hoping to give it 5 stars when it matures a little.
Revising rating after driving with this app for 1800 miles this week. As with all CoPilot products this app is full featured. I like the UI. INRIX traffic is very good as is ActiveRoute. All of that is ruined by horrible maps. While driving 1800 miles in only 4 states I found three outdated map issues that I confirmed were opened in 2014, all on major state highways or freeways including the Chicago Tollway system. If major freeways are 18 months outdated can't imagine how bad fast growing city streets are.
Some motorhomes, especially tandem axle models run over 40,000 pounds. Can only input 26,000. I'm reluctant to buy the truck version just for that. The warning POI's (low bridge, etc.) should be larger, more conspicuous. I use a Nexus 7 (2013) and they are sometimes hard to spot amongst the other POI's.

Generally a very reliable GPS system.
