CoPilot Europe Navigation for Android
So once again I am in Europe driving on the wrong side of the road. I bought the European maps years ago and only use CoPilot when I am in Europe. This time in Greece I thought that I might see if any of the free alternatives stack up against CoPilot. Short answer is no. Here we go maps in offline mode tried to take us on an unopened freeway on lefdaka and Google maps in online mode is a shining example of how not to do everything. Routing, maps, offline POI and voice navigation in CoPilot is miles better than anyone elses. I have just started using the new UI but if it isn't included a speedometer option would be great.
The new layout is very welcome, love that you can finally see the map on all screen. Saving the maps on SD card is a very welcome improvement but all my saved locations are gone if I save the maps on SD.
Good app running on HTC sensation. Standard charger,in car or external battery pack easily tops up or maintains battery when app running.
I drive quite a lot through Europe and it works rather well. Happy to have paid for it.
New maps is better for navigation.
Customer support is good..
New interface sucks, designed to look pretty rather than be able to be used while driving. For example adding a destination is now excruciating especially if you don't have full details. I un-installed and went back to a usable version. What used to be an awesome app is ruined. I hope it can be updated in future to return to a simple driver friendly app
I've tried several turn-by-turn offline navigation apps and this one is the best! Simple to use, good user interface, configurable, and most important - good maps and coverage! POIs are also do cent. Another thing worth noting is that they care for their customers, reply to their questions and solve possible app problems! Great app!
Absolutely brilliant had new garmin on holiday in Poland and this beat it. Just had it updated and it is no longer a 5 star. Can not drag route and you no longer have the option of selecting 1 of 3 routes. Now not worth the money. The old version is far better before the update. Can I get copy before update?
Seem to be some quirks but then again I am still getting used to it. Really like how well it adjusts to changes in the route. It didn't recognize a bus-gate that only operates at certain times.
I would not recommend this. I have reinstalled it 3 times.. Still freezing when I try and input destination. Customer service is appalling... Simply did you do this and that.. Nothing to address the issue of my being in France with a useless GPS system. Shame.
Loved the CoPilot Europe (for years, also on my previos phones) until the maps update in december 2016. After that the app crashes right after start. I have tried to update the app in January 2017, but it does not get far enough to install the update. The phone is Blackberry Prive with Android 6.0.1 and this is the first app in more than a year of use, that does not work.
Personally I think the redesign is mostly good. The map display and information is so much better. However, there are a few glitches that need ironing out such as the "heading" notification on the map for the Location Info Display always points North, even if you're driving South. As there is no compass on the map, I'd really like this to be fixed as soon as possible
It is hard to understand the reason for last "update". After years using CoPilot, having bought three licenses, happy with the former friendly UI and with all functionalities (which fitted all my needs and more) the previous version provided, I simply have no words to classify the "update". What for? Why? Was it out of date in some way? I don't think so. It worked like a brise and the graphic appearance was quite ok. No downgrade is possible. It is finished. I feel betrayed and will uninstall it.
This is for 10.2.. the latest. It was the best before but now it's rubbish on basic function. I use my contacts quite a lot to define my destination and it's clever to understand where it is even when address has the name of a school, village community, church, etc. Now it gives me a list of addresses to choose from. This is only one. There are more that went wrong on this latest update. ***Another big one., it deleted my Southeast Asian map. Until I could not find anyway to download it again. (Confirmed resolved on 25Jan2017).*** If the functions of old version won't come back on the next update, can you make the old version avaliable again with Google as the search engine?
Very difficult to cancel a diversion. Also auto zoom on 3d is not quick enough to match speed. Often too far zoomed out to see the detail. Road-route coloring could be a bit finer/narrower as when at a complicated junction it can be hard to follow. When planning multi stops it can be confusing as it draws the route the same colour and when passing over the same roundabouts it can be difficult to follow
Recent changes don't seem to be an improvement. Trying to enter a specific address in a village in France has proven to be beyond me. Can't find address, can't pick on map, can't enter Street. I'd hate to be using this for real at the side of the road. Way too unintuitive.
Used it on a trip to France. . In general it does okay to use as a basic sat nav with pre loaded maps but doesn't pick all the cameras in the UK. The trafic light camera's and points of interest only appear when u stop plus only a limited range when you search. You can't mute voice and have still have traffic warnings. Plus its keeps getting speed camera warning frozen on the top of the screen so u have to restart thr app to clear. For what you pay its no were near the same level as tom tom go. Very disappointed.
Offline maps, easy to use. Need to use a mix of Internal POIs and external (eg google search). Journey speeds not very accurate. Good multistop route planning in advance.
Used to love this app. It used to be so intuitive and easy to use. For some unknown reason over the past two years or so it has become increasingly difficult to use and user unfriendly. It is now almost completely counter intuitive. The Web search was great, now it is useless, I've never had a single successful return. Things that used to be easy have either gone or are buried deep in sub menus. Really for two years this has got worse with every update. I'm now looking to switch as it annoys me so much. How could they take such a great product and ruin it so completely? It's beyond comprehension.
Used to have an intuitive interface, now it's a TOTAL NIGHTMARE after the latest update. Really hard to manage favourites or get it to basically do what you want it to do. Shame, it used to be good.
Great navigation, online search Yelp it is useless and doesnt work in Russia. There is no opportunity to select phone speaker when is connected by Bluetooth multimedia
Generally I have a very good opinion of this app! Used in Holland for a while and very accurate! Definitely worth the money considering the updates you get and the ability the back up your preferences and then retrieve on a new device which I have done twice now! Using on Sony Xperia Z1 at the moment and no issues so far!
Used to be very good. Offline is a plus but beware if you don't have a good sense of direction. Was going right across Germany on E40 motorway and it told me suddenly to come off at a junction, there was NOTHING there! Had to turn round and get back on motorway, another time it told me to follow a side road to Prague once in Czech rep., didn't trust the route and went elsewhere only to find out it was correct in first place, just can't trust it, also maps always a year out of date.. Update: 25/10/17 ALK offered a link to discuss what went wrong with the routing in Germany-guess what? The link doesn't work! I'll save them the time to investigate: Because the maps are always somewhere near a year out of date, it is clear that the motorway had been re-routed slightly in the meantime, because shortly before this incident, copilot had showed me driving in the middle of a field where I had in fact been on the motorway, moments later it gets all confused and has me coming off into-more fields. Still distinctly unimpressed, in fact after this episode of their link not working, even more so
Really hard to use. Simple thing. How to change miles to km? Oldest version was better.
Great Satnav App. Unfortunately a subscription is required to traffic alerts so Google Maps is my preferred navigator.
Originally I didn't like the redesign, but now I am used to it I am still pleased to have bought this very useful app.
after upgrade every time when I want use getting frozen after two minutes ...using this app around 8 years but first time have problems....please help.....
I have used CoPilot for many years, I recommend it to everyone who wants an easy to use GPS that has never let me down.
Been using for years, very happy.
Great improvements especially easy to read. Just recommended copilot to my son.????
All you need from a sat navigation
Works very well.
Best you can get
Best sat-nav on the market 5 star
Works well
Great app.
❤️❤️❤️
I returned to this after trying TT. Now wondering why I was tempted to leave. This works. There are free systems that give it a run for its money functionally but this is easier and more intuitive to use. It could do with a design update for the graphics which are a bit old hat-kind of pseudo dashboard but that's a minor niggle. Five stars when you get the graphical layout up to speed.

UPDATE. I increased the score from 1star to 3 as some of the main issues have been fixed. Will give it 5 stars once I can use it without having to open Google maps. I owned this app for many years but it always was a pain to find a location. Search just doesn't work. What I have to do is find it on Google maps and then try to pinpoint it on this app. Very hideous process! To make it worse when I switch between Google and this app the map goes always back to my current location. Also maps are incomplete and very often it tries to take you through inadequate roads for normal vehicles.
