CoPilot UK+ Ireland Navigation for Android
One of the better sat nav apps, however the new ui seems like a step back and. I much prefer the old layout which was near perferct. In landscape mode the old ui was well designed. The new ui has poor placement of on screen info with no ability to customise the layout or revert to the old ui. The traffic service I found to be slow and unusable to city driving, but ok to longer distance motorway driving.
Wow, what a truly awful update. Right hand third of the screen is taken up by the info that used to be on the bottom. The map display is so small and zoomed in is unusable. Seems to have been made with phones or tablets in mind and not in car devices. Low resolution displays means it's time to start looking at the competitors. Just wish I could get a refund as spent money on a product the company has made unusable by an automatic update and no way to roll back. Make sure to try before you buy. It might not work for you.
Ok guys really cool update still the best Sat nav. but as always there's a but. Why did you put the info display on the side when we rotate to landscape it worked so much better along the bottom as then the full width of the map was displayed. Now we have a small square. Be big not square.
It just updated as I was on my way to a client's house. Now the navigate to contact does not work properly, it just brings up a list of addresses our thinks are right, tried several and I only 1 was correct address. I don't like the new GUI but I can't imagine you going back. I've hast top use the free Google maps to get me to where I'm going. Been using co pilot for around a decade now and think this may be my last time!
Amazing navigation app. Really like the new ui. Could do with a pop up to give you a guided tour of the new interface when you first load up co pilot but except for that amazing.
Ull get my 5 stars when u do the below. The best satnav I've used to date, and I've been through all the main brands. Please improve with separate navigation volume control as it currently screams above everything else. I use this on a multi function device and find that the nav audio is far louder than the music i stream or podcasts i play. To anyone considering to purchase this app, do it, its awesome i use it in the UK and Europe. *** With collective co-operation we can get the important volume function added. Please request this functionality to be added on the forum and here***
Updated the app then drove from southWales to Reading along the M4 being told to leave the motorway and then rejoin it again at every junction. Even i know you dont get off intil you reach Reading. Sent details into support still not had a reply.
The latest root and branch rebuild is the best yet it works seamlessly, it is stable I am happy to recommend CoPilot. If you are looking for reliable Sat Nav at very reasonable price then don't look any further. CoPilot has it all.
I've used a few satnavs, and this is the best. However, the new update has made the map area to small and too zoomed. Can the zoom out be set to zoom out much further. The ui takes a bit of learning but still works better than most. Make the over speed limit a percentage rather than 5 or 10 mph. When is the next update planned to make these changes?
The new update is terrible. Information display is less intuitive, more confusing, harder to see. Awful. Why change something so drastically that was so good? At least give the option to use the classic display for God's sake! What were yout thinking?
Update: now updated to latest version and hangs on intro screen. Why oh why can you not get it right. This is a Paid for App so we are not your testers. Please sort this out. Utter rubbish really. Paid for Europe. Won't install. Tried downloading several times. Re installed App to no avail. Utter rubbish. Please refund map cost
Really happy with the new update, the fact the map is smooth and scrollable without lag now is brilliant.. Much awaited, the best sat navigation. Thanks copilot team for hard work!, look past the negative comments about the new update, with such a big update there are bound to be a few bugs but I'm sure they will be fixed in the upcoming patches..
My last review for this product was a couple of years or so ago, so I thought a quick update was in order....well, I still use and like this product (Works well on my Android Car Stereo) - the routing seems a bit better than it used to be and everything else works really quite well ! In regards to the new update, I'm not sure yet. I really like some of what has been done and clearly a lot of thought has gone into it. I do love that updates are included!! It does look more modern, cleaner and 'fresher' than before. Searching is possibly easier, not certain yet. Like others I do NOT like the fact that my map display has now shrunk due to the larger display to the right of the screen. I really hope, and look forward to a Beta Version, or an update which will hopefully give the option to change that back.(others seem to think the same thing?) Otherwise, great work thank you! AC
Following the update to version 10.2.0.155 I have lost the built in voices and my remaining months left of Active Traffic. I'm not happy about the large increase in renewing the licence either. The user interface is a disaster compared to the previous version as well... I used to recommend Copilot to friends but not any more. ALK. I have email support with the above problems and am awaiting a reply.
I really liked this app for its lane guidance, appearance, and sound, and the fact you can use it of line. Unfortunately it fails as an accurate sat nav. It has already had the odd quirk that I have lived with because I did like it so much. But in my area we have had a serious detour that has necessitated the building of a relief road. This detour has been with us 2 years and is still on going. In fact the road was named a couple of months ago as it is going to be a permanent fixture. Even when the work is finished. This is the only sat nav that does not show this detour. SO WRONG
Not keen on the new layout. Found the old one much crisper. But Could live with it. However yelp so far has a 0 in 8 success rate of finding what im looking for. Shame as used this app for years and now forced to change.
Used to be my go to sat nav but over priced yearly subscription to traffic and slow to update changing road layouts has made me move away from this app. Other apps give traffic for free. At this price CoPilot should as well.
Seems all good, the new colour is in line with android, more pastel colours, only gripe I got and only little is motorways the speed limit is 70 mph but shows 60 all the time and every so often keeps coming up over speeding 30mph. The speed limit is 70! Apart from that great app.
The previous version's interface was far better. It no longer seems to be possible to drag a route, active traffic map now only shows if you have an active route, putting an address in shouldn't be this hard, buying other maps is so hard I just can't be bothered and the suggested routes continue to be "eccentric". They are never what I would choose from looking at a map or using local knowledge nor do they match Google Maps sensible routes. I'm afraid this app is toast when data network coverage improves.
I like the smart new interface. One thing: the road number sticker on the map identifying the road you are actually on has gone. Annoying if you are seeking reassurance about your route.
Truly loved the old CoPilot, absolutely hate the new one. I want to return to the old app please with all its many options, better layout, etc. or I look elsewhere.
Prefer the old layout with menu options at bottom. Also still no option to mute all sounds except speed camera warnings. Pronunciation of town names is terrible.
With a brand like CoPilot, I thought I would be safe,-------- My postcode does not contain my house number (less than a third of the addresses on my street are included). Even the Free alternatives (Navmii) are more accurate. When I queried this, I was told that it was probably because it was a new street. (The houses are nearly 30 years old). Also, it could be upto a year before the error is corrected, IF the issue is picked up by Navteq . Try the free one first before committing £17.99
DO NOT DOWNLOAD - Unable to complete activation error 726 seems to be effecting all co pilot apps. Really poor show guys, I want my money back. I know I can contact support but this should not be happening in the first place. Clearly a programming flaw that needs fixing.
Loved this for years, but the latest update has broken it. Runs for up to 30 minutes, then freezes. Has to be hard reset to run again. So I have to use Google Maps. Very bad indeed.
This used to be the best sat navigation app but this update has made all easy tasks much longer. There are now more clicks per task plus what seem like added prompts. I can't find navigate to point on map either. I seemed to find a way round it but surly it's not the right way. I'm looking elsewhere for sat nav now. Shame I can't get a refund as this isn't what I paid for.
Update Judging by the number of comments to contact support rather than answer question Supporti must be busy. They should allow reverting back to working previous version while they sort out incomparability issues. They have confirmed the new version does not work on lenovo devices. They should refund or allow people to revert due to their actions causing issues for users. The latest version updated a previous working version. Now distorted layout no maps no menus. How can I go back to previous working version. Lenovo tab 10. The new version works ok on my Samsung s4.
If it ain't broke don't try and fix it!! Map screen is nice but everything else has been ruined compared to the older version that I'd paid for... disappointing
I have used Co Pilot for years and agree with the other reviews that the new layout is a step back as there is less space for the map which is the main purpose of the app. Also and this has stopped me from using it is that over a certain speed the map zooms out (this is fine) but as you slow down or approach a turn the old version used to zoom in but this new one doesn't. This makes the final part of the journey hard to navigate as the map remains zoomed out. I contacted customer support and was told there is an issue with this feature and I should zoom in manually! Please fix this.
The new update has made this app even better, took a bit of getting used to but well worth the effort. Great app well worth the money I use it daily for work without a hitch. It has nice features and always gets me to where I'm going.
Why did you ruin a usable interface? This is now TomTom V2. Please give option for original layout. And why do motorways have a 30mph speed limit? Hate it,
Having paid to install this app on my Android System which stated it was compatible. All I ever got was the home screen to work and nothing else. Having written to Co Pilot all they could say it was not compatible and they are working on the software which I consider is misrepresentation. I have tried the other navigating apps and they work so be careful before you buy this product.
New update has transformed this app. Ability to set vehicle type such as towing means you will not get stuck with horse trailer in a narrow Lane. Great stuff
Latest update is terrible . What was a fantastic 10 out of 10 sat nav is now very unuser friendly and difficult to use. None of it ' flows '. You spend more time trying to get the darn thing to work than using it. Time to start using a proper sat nav till the fool sort it out.
Navigation fundamentally poor for the roads I wanted it for. Bought this app as I wanted a sat nav that used offline maps since most of my driving on unknown roads is in Yorkshire Wolds/Moors/Dales and I couldn't guarantee a data connection. Unfortunately the routing is poor with CoPilot calculating routes that neither Garmin nor Google calculate. The estimated time for the journey is also way out. So it looks like the problem is either the routing algorithm or database of road information which I assume has to be relatively small to be downloadable. I contacted the support team to check I had all of the settings correct. They were prompt in their response and confirmed the settings were correct and could offer no explanation re. the poor routing. CoPilot will get you to your destination and I personally like the interface however for me I have no confidence in it navigating me by the shortest/quickest route and still reach for Google Maps or my wife's Garmin to do that. Having said all that I still use it for leisurely drives where I plan out a route using backroads on my old hardcopy road atlas then transfer it to CoPilot using the very good trip planning function which is easy to use. So before you purchase check out the trial version on roads that you want it for and validate its accuracy with Google Maps if travelling by the quickest or shortest route is important to you.
Great update BUT the UK maps are still out of date. A roundabout near where I live was removed a year ago but Copilot still shows it as existing. A major update like this that claims to have new maps really ought to have new maps not outdated ones.
Big issue for me, alternate route does not work from traffic never able to offer alternate route. An issue also if Road closed ahead
What on earth have you done?? I inadvertently found my way to "my maps" and now the app is stuck there as there are NO menu commands!
The original app was excellent, but the new update just hangs all the time when you put a destination in. Can be 20 mins before it shows signs of working. Traffic works when it feels like. Would of been nice to have a choice of which version to install. Not every body perhaps has top notch phones.! Having to use Google maps more and more so can get on to destination.

Don't like the new layout or user interface. The old layout was better. Plus why get rid of the colour green for the road and replace it with blue? Green is easier on the eyes. It just seems like you've jazzed up the design just for the sake of it and to my mind it hasn't worked. I've used copilot for over 6years on android but this is by far the worse change in all these years.
