Festival Arte e Fede

Orvieto è una delle testimonianze più autentiche e singolari del rapporto tra arte, fede e storia nel mondo. La città di per sé è un palinsesto d’arte sulla quale sorge il suo monumento simbolo, il Duomo.

L’obiettivo del Festival Internazionale d’Arte e Fede è quello di caratterizzare la settimana che precede la Festività del Corpus Domini con la compresenza di mostre, spettacoli, concerti, conferenze, incontri, attività incentrate sui temi dell’arte e della fede e sul rapporto tra di esse oggi, a livello erudito e popolare allo stesso tempo, con un taglio interculturale ed ecumenico.

L’arte, il teatro e la musica, il dibattito culturale e la ricerca teologica e antropologica in chiave contemporanea intorno ai temi dell’arte e della fede, possano creare un’esperienza straordinaria per recuperare la dimensione unitaria della vita culturale, sociale e spirituale nell’uomo del XXI° secolo, oltre a rinnovare la vocazione dell’antica città di Orvieto come centro di sperimentazione e di sviluppo delle arti in relazione alla fede.

Seppur giovane, cronologicamente parlando, il Festival Internazionale d’Arte e Fede, giunto alla sua VIª Edizione, ha già ospitato artisti e personaggi di fama nazionale e internazionale come Angelo Branduardi, Roberto Vecchioni, Susanna Tamaro, Franco Nero, Claudia Koll, Giulio Base, Guido Chiesa, Antonio Socci, Pino Strabioli, Antonella Anghinoni, Mons. Timothy Verdon, Mons. Dario Viganò, Alice Rohrwacher, Rino Cammilleri, Pietro Sarubbi, Karin Coonrod, Bruce Herman, Trazana Beverly, Edward Knippers, Jeanette Thompson, studiosi delle più importanti Università del mondo e richiama migliaia di persone che ogni anno si radunano ad Orvieto per i suoi appuntamenti.
