Alef: Learn Arabic for Kids - FREE

*thank you* for the different dialects! Just flipping back and forth between them was eye opening (even 1-10!), but having a proper Syrian dialect app is fantastic! I'm learning the language alongside a toddler and it works for the kid as well as myself, even with just the words available. Please add more words - I'd be happy to contribute to make that happen!

The picture representations are too simple for my toddler to really understand what it is. I think a real photo of animals or whatever it is would be more effective at teaching them. (I also happen to be an Elementary school teacher)

Simple yet a great app. Not a lot of apps that teach the Lebanese dialect out there. I would be willing to pay some $$ to encourage the developers to expand the Lebanese section.

Quality content - something seldom found in this world. Big, clean fonts, clear pronunciation and very user-friendly. Looking forward to more content, and hopefully verbs too. I would love to see this become a complete vocab app.

It is colorful with clear pronunciations that my children love! The cartoons are friendly and easily recognizable, as well. The only thing it lacks is more material.

Grate for kids

Through directly connecting words with objects, the app evades the sometimes cumbersome act of translating texts found in most other apps- and the concepts have far greater chance of sticking to one's memory. It offers excellent building blocks to work from, and teaches the way scientifically validated as most effective. For a clearer understanding of how the letters connect, download the Arabic keyboard on your phone and fiddle with it- then mimic it in handwriting.

I like the option of different dialects. Used it to teach my friend Lebanese arabic instead of her speaking awkward official arabic.

Tried several apps to teach my kids Arabic and this is the only one they found interesting. Simple, colorful and entertaining!

Great app for kids growing up abroad to learn Arabic pronunciation. I'm looking forward for additional words and some flashy rewards to keep the kids excited about learning Arabic. Watch out Duolingo.

It's a very good app, it provides exact pronunciation and translation. I wish you provide some grammar lesson in the future, if not in all dialects, in Lebanese (since you're Lebanese ;) ), many learners would appreciate that! Good luck and thank you for your efforts!

I love this app. My 2 year old is loving it and learning Arabic words really quickly. The pictures are so cute and they keep him engaged. I also love that he is learning the Palestinian dialect. I must admit that even I'm learning some words too.
