Air Canada for Android
Using on a Samsung S2 Tablet running Android 7 is a failure. Text typing spaces are not formatted so that you can see what you type. Impossible to reset your email or password if you no longer have that email and can't create a new account because all your old reservations and aeroplan number are tied to your old account. Air Canada appears to not have any help or support for the app.
I have really given this app way too much of my time. It is really, really slow. I don't understand why it takes 15 to 20 seconds to lookup anything. Although, the air canada website I find is no better. It used to be OK, but this entire year I have found it hardly works or is very slow. It does not even have a lot of functionality. I could somewhat understand this if the app had a lot of complex features, but compared to the Delta Airlines app, this thing is in the stone age. I am very disappointed with Air Canada lately and this app is making it worse for me. I am on a Samsung S7 so I hardly think it is my phone that is the problem. The gate for my boarding pass does not update ever. Another point for Delta's app which updates when the gate is confirmed or changes and when boarding officially starts.
Often crashes. Written from the perspective of Air Canada and not the client so it manipulates the client instead of providing assistance.
Couldn't get the entertainment to work on Rouge flight until the last 45 mins of the 5 hr flight. Painful...
Didn't install on ground. Could not install during flight until after paid for internet. When watching shows could not pause, unless go out of app, but then could not resume. Media player part needs huge improvements
App is even worse then the airline, it's 2017, you should be able to figure out how to make an app work by now.
Very slow wifi connection on board. The movies on board are old should update list.
Works like it should. I manage and book my flights including checkin and seat selection.
App was easy to use to check in. Used it to board the flight. App was timely of flight and gate changes. App still needs improvements to even stand with the other airlines such as Delta. They have checked luggage tracking where they notify you when your luggage is ready on the carousel.
How do you login? Why I cannot login with my email and password? In air Canada website It use Aeroplan number to login. Is this a official app?
OMG it's been years since I gave air Canada another chance and as I thought it's worse than before so sad a company representing Canada is so terrible.

This app sucks... Would never load anything...crash...my reccomendation to you...download movies from netflix...dont count on this piece of garbage

Doesn't work properly on my Samsung tablet with version Android 7+. Takes forever for the entertainment part to launch and doesn't show the latest available movies. AC get with the program if you want to be a world class airline or install players on the back of the seats and charge an extra $1 per flight. It will quickly pay for itself an you will start making more money. Not rocket science. Why aren't your executive geniuses taking care of this? Too busy counting their bonuses i presume. Fail
Whoever is in charge of UX design needs to be fired. I'm not a UX designer and could do your job better than you. Just do a focus group with your power users and frequent flyers... Ask them how they use your app and why it's frustrating. Use your app yourself and ask at each stage, how could this experience be made more intuitive and easier. How would Apple design this app? Why for example, do I have to entre my Nexus ID and expiry date every single time I check in? Why is there a separate login for Air Canada mobile and Air Canada the website? Why am I allowed to check in after I have just checked in with no indication that I have done so already? Why don't my flights update automatically after I book a new flight?
The interface for this app is very confusing after checking in it asks to recheck in. Doesn't actually track your flights after signing in. Have to manually add as "booked" if these pieces all come together it will be nice. Also the movie selection on the rouge entertainment is terrible get Netflix and download some movies
The app upon being installed on my new phone keeps saying that wifi or data isn't turned on but it is and it won't let me sign in.
Worst app I've ever used !!! If Air Canada can't afford headrest TV's I'll be using their competition from now on.
App and website needs renovation. Very bad, you guys should hire better programmers!!!
L'application semble bien fonctionner sauf qu'au moment de la récupération de ma réservation, je la vois bien sur l'écran avec mon nom et mes vols mais il ne la sauvegarde pas dans mes vols et mes réservations du téléphone lorsque je presse sur "Ajouter aux vols réservés. J'ai un Samsung 7 avec Android 7.0. Mon vol n'est que dans un mois, est ce trop tôt? En passant, "Android System Webview" n'est plus activé dans les Androids ayant Google Chrome. Donc, est ce que votre commentaire est toujours valide de garder Android System Webview à jour?
Doesn't update status of flights. The check-in feature is really buggy. I can't rely on it when I need it.

This app has come a long way since it was first introduced a few years ago. Those first few iterations were pretty useless. But now this is a very good app and I highly recommend it to Air Canada users. You can view your e-boarding pass, get flight status, and get notifications on flight status all from this well designed app. Kudos to Air Canada for keeping with this app and making improvements. Good job.
Entered reference number a week ago and everything was fine including an added passenger....until today. Today all that information had disappeared under the guise of a password reset with the reason of multiple attempts to sign in untrue and incorrect. I'm leaving in a few days and had I not decided to look at the app....my airport check in would have been a real hassle.... What a waste of time....
App worked as expected and was easily a 4 star app until an update came out a few months ago that caused the app to become extremely laggy. Every interaction with the app now has a 2 or 3 second delay. Even just to open the menu or scroll down. I've tried deleting the cache and user data as well as completely uninstalling and reinstalling. Haven't been able to resolve it. Completely ruins the user experience. Giving 2 stars simply because it works but you lost 2 stars due to the lag.
The app in itself is useless. Barely any information about the flights (Gate, Terminal, etc), not only that, but the information isn't updated as well, except to alert when boarding is starting, and if the flight is delayed. The app refused to Check me in multiple times before finally being able to do it, but it also DELETED my boarding passes on multiple occasions on my way back home. If it wasn't for screenshots that I took of my electronic boarding passes by precaution, I most probably wouldn't have been able to board my last flight, since my boarding pass was deleted from the app at the moment of boarding, and the links provided in the emails to said boarding passes are timed out after a bit of wait, and basically aren't accessible. This whole experience caused a lot of anxiety for my first time traveling with them for a round-trip, and only because of that, I will not travel with them again.
This app is useless if you are not Canadian. I have a valid visa but it will tell you to check with an Air Canada staff. A total waste of my time.
Works great for all the things it's supposed to. Checked in for all my flights and used the app to board my flights. Ability to make changes to a booking right from the app are great. Can a be a little slow to load sometimes when it's fetching fresh I formation. But overall very responsive and snappy.
I checked in using this app, 24 hours before the flight, to get the boarding passes. But i had a problem. Both my wife and I share the same email address, and i wanted to send our boarding pass confirmation to our email. but when i put in the email for my wife's confirmation, it refused to take it. it said that it had to be a different address from mine - even though we booked the flights together, and they were under the same confirmation number. so i ended up having to get the boarding pass at the airport, at the kiosk - waiting behind the line, to get at a kiosk. i tried to use the app to save time, but ... it didn't work. Also, once on the Rouge flight, we tried to get the entertainment, and it kept saying - unavailable - even though we were setup properly, with us choosing Airplane mode, and then wifi on, picking one of the 2 rouge wifi setups. finally, one of the techie stewards tried a few things, and we ended up re-downloading the app before we could use it. One week prior, it worked on Sept. 25 2017, but didn't work on Oct. 2 2017. the download took about an hour. deadly. i went into google playstore today, and it's the same version on playstore that i had on.
Completely useless. Despite having the correct version of Android OS installed this app would not work to play media on Air Canada Rouge flights. Avoid this app, avoid AC Rouge.
Was very glitchy in the air on Android. Kept saying the service was unavailable (was connected to WiFi) as my wife browsed with no issues on her iPad.
So incredibly slow. There is a huge delay for any action performed with this app. Running 8.0 on Pixel XL
Can't even check In now. Asked to update password and still does not work
I cannot use the app because it refused to give me my password.
Doesn't work on 8.0, freezes constantly. Really poor.
I have two flights in a single booking. When I use the app to do a check in, it only allowed me to check in the first flight. I had to go to a counter to check in for the second boarding pass
Great app, well setup making it much easier to track your upcoming flights, manage bookings, and makes it much easier to get from security to check-in to airborne.

Worked for the last 15 minutes of a 6 hour flight. Clearly AC would rather people pay $10 for the inflight iPads do why even bother faking that you are trying to offer a free option. Waste of AC's and people's time
