1. Ceramah Umum
Ceramah adalah pesan yang bertujuan memberikan nasehat dan petunjuk-petunjuk sementara ada audiens yang bertindak sebagai pendengar. Sedangkan umum adalah keseluruhan untuk siapa saja, khlayak ramai, masyrakat luas, atau lazim. Jadi ceramah umum adalah pidato yang bertujuan untuk memberikan nasehat kepada khalayak umum atau maysrakat luas. Di dalam ceramah umum ini keseluruhannya bersifat menyeluruh tidak ada batasan-batasan apapun baik dari audiens yang tua muapun muda,materinya juga tidak ditentukan sesuai dengan acara.

2. Ceramah Khusus
Pengertian ceramah sudah dipaparkan seperti yang diatas akan tetapi kali ini akan dipaparkan pengertian dari ceramah khusus itu sendiri yang mana khusus adalah tersendiri,istimewa, takkan ada yang lain, jadi ceramah khusus itu sendiri berarti ceramah yang bertujuan untuk memberikan nasehat-nasehat kepada mad’u atau khalayak tertentu dan juga abersifat khusus baik itu materi maupun yang lainnya. Sedangkan dalam ceramah khusus banyak batasan-batasan yang dibuat mulai dari audiens yang sesuai dengan yang diinginkan dan materi juga yng menyesuaikan dengan keadaan. Contoh: Peringatan hari besar islam (PHBI) seperti Isra’miraj, maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW, bulan puasa dll.

Komponen ceramah
Komponen-komponen atau unsur-unsur ceramah sama saja dengan komponen-komponen dakwah: 1. Public Lecture
            Lecture is a message aimed at providing advice and hints while there is an audience that acts as a listener. While the public is overall to anyone, khlayak crowded, broad society, or unusual. So public discourse is a speech which aims to give advice to the general public or maysrakat wide. In the public discourse is entirely exhaustive no restrictions of any kind of audience muapun old young, the material is also not determined in accordance with the event.

2. Special Lectures
                Understanding lecture has been described as above but this time it will be presented the notion of a special lecture itself which is its own special, privileged, no one else, so a special lecture itself means the lecture which aims to provide advice to mad'u or a particular audience and also special abersifat both the material and the other. Meanwhile, in a special lecture many restrictions that are made from the appropriate audience with the desired and the material also yng adjust to the situation. Example: Warning great day islam (PHBI) as Isra'miraj, birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, the month of fasting etc.
