Futsal Counter

Futsal Counter allows you to enjoy watching a game while giving you the opportunity to help the team by easily keeping track of the events in a game to provide access to the hidden details of the game to the coaches and players.


Key features include:

Futsal Counter exists to allow players, coaches, and supporters to be able to judge how their team performed by more than simply the score. Futsal Counter allows for the supporter to come out and enjoy watching a game while still helping the coaching staff help the player.

At the child/teen level too often winning becomes all that is important.

At the start of a season a volunteer coach will hold a meeting telling all the players and parents that the season is about development and not about the number of wins. Everybody will nod their heads in agreement; but come the third straight loss the mumbling from the parents starts.

Part of the problem is that it is difficult for parents who are not familiar with the game to judge if their children are developing since the only visible measure is the score at the end of a game. Is the team that had 5-0, 6-0, and 10-1 losses progressing? How about the team that won with those scores?

If the team is trying to improve their possession time, and the amount of completed passes goes from 20% to 30% then we have definite progress. The team is learning to maintain possession by making good passes. Futsal Counter gives detailed measurements that allow everybody to know how the team is improving. It replaces gut feeling with facts.


For coaches the measurements augment their observations and provides information to the coaching staff when deciding where to concentrate their efforts. It also gives the coaching staff to a basis for feedback to the team that the players can appreciate. "Hey guys we lost to a bigger stronger team that simply played kick and chase; but we held on to the ball more often than we have ever done. Our passing is really improving and I cannot wait to see what happens as we get better and play them again."


A side effect that we have seen is the supporters tend to be kinder to the game officials. We tend to remember the calls that went against our child's team; however when the number of fouls is counted and it is shown they are more or less even, the cat calls tend to die down.


Futsal Counter is not only for child teams. We have seen the benefits when used with with adult teams. Players enjoy receiving the feedback, and feel like a "pro". Common goals for the team become specific, "lets get a our pass rate up to 34% this game, and keep their shots on goal down".
