Gautrain

The app does not give any alerts to users about the train delays. The only way to get updates is through twitter and if you dont go on twitter, you wont know about the delays until you arrive at the station. It's a big inconvenience. Also, the train timetable is incorrect. I've planned my time around what the app says and have been late because of this

THEY PROMISED A NEW APP MONTHS AGO, BUT IT IS STILL THE SAME OLD PIECE OF CRAP. It drains battery by grabbing the GPS and not letting go. It has horrible notifications. The bus tracker is buggy as hell. And generally it is just a butt ugly app.

The schedule is hopeless. Plan to catch a larger 8-car train, arrive at the platform, with 4-car approaching, or trains not running on the time schedule, or mised the 8-car with a few minutes. Don't even try the bus tracker.. serious investment into this app is needed from the developers.

The ability to track buses is hopeless. That needs to improve. Also the train times are generic averages. Today the train is over an hour late and this foolish app is reporting it as arriving every 8 mins. Needs realtime app and train tracking. Not reliable

This app is absolutely useless with the buses! I'm not a programmer and I could've done a better job. The routes interlink, how am I meant to know if it is my route when 4 routes are interlinked? I'm really upset, because the bus stop I'm at is in an unsafe area and timing the bus is almost close to impossible with the app. Please update your app and maybe colour coordinate the buses on the routes as well and not just routes, because that's a fail.

This app can be very useful. I like the bus tracker. However, the train schedule is wrong. If public transport is not reliable then it is useless. Please update the schedule asap.

This app probably has the worst design possible. It feels as if it was developed for Android 2.2 and follows none of Google's design principles. It gives you the information you need but there are better alternatives to this app. EDIT: Thank you for the response, I look forward to the improvments!

Does not provide notices of late trains or changes in schedule. Why is it a static timetable and not automated in line with the station boards. What is the point of an app that does not provide accurate information. What a disappointment

Seriously? Can you not accomplish a task as simple as having the correct train times? Surely that's the sole purpose of the app? Small differences are understandable (I did read the disclaimer) but a 10 minute difference is pathetic

The bus tracker does not work correctly on Android the way it works on Apple. Please fix this feature.

The actual train times don't match up with the app times. This is a very aggravating problem for a passenger trying to plan a trip between Pretoria and Sandton. The trains are also exceptionally crowded.

On the alert tab, the font is too tiny for my old eyes to read with a magnifying glass. The screen does not enlarge like it does in a browser. What a stupid design.

For visually impaired do not ask staff for arrival and departure time.

Can the app please use NFC capabilities and allow users to scan their account balances on their phones. Having to stand in a line to get your account balance is unnecessary.

It's ordinary, UI sucks, UX is worse. NEEDS redevelopment. Gives you the basic information though. App should let you check card balance.

Informative application. Although when searching on the Bus Tracker, the app says "Key is Not Valid . Then you need to restart the application. Your Bus Tracker needs serious attention.

Ads! Why. This type of app does not need to have integrated ads. Shocking. You already taking exhorbetent amounts of money for use of a train and bus, now you bash us with ads.

Needs improvement . I identified so many rooms for improvement in just a few minute's. Next time try planning, analysing and designing before implementing.

Please update this stupid thing to align with the correct times and to announce delays. And the bus tracker is shockingly slow, without including a timetable. Really not impressed considering how expensive fare is!

Up your game or update the app times more frequently - no live timing of trains so the wait time on the app and at the station is different

Coming from Cape Town, I always used the MyCiti bus service. Something to consider would be the NFC feature so that I can check my balance, manage my card(s), and maybe even top-up my account through my device. Otherwise, great app.

Generally good. But the bus tracker needs improvement. In Pretoria, there are 2 routes (Arcadia and another one) that are both red, and they touch at the intersection of Hamilton and Francis Baard. It's very difficult to see that they're actually different routes, and this morning it resulted in an hour delay and a 4km walk for me. The tracker interface is also very slow. But apart from that, times and fares etc are all good! Well done.

Once the bus tracker is used with the locate me option, the app grabs hold of the GPS and just doesn't let go. Even when the app is in the background, it keeps the GPS working hard. This drains my battery quite a bit. My biggest gripe with this app is the irritating notifications, it doesn't use the normal Android notification tray to display incoming notifications, instead the app uses its own notifications which just overlays over which ever app you have open. Very bad style.

Seems to have lost some functionality since it was updated? Like remembering the last station you'd entered. Also takes you to the current day's timetable even if you've selected another day.

The app works, I'll give it that. But please, please, work on the looks. I don't go on the Gautrain frequently, but when I do, I have to check the timetable. And the looks of the app just put me off completely. For a device running Android 5.1 Lollipop, to have an app that looks like it's from Gingerbread or Froyo is just sad. Please update the design to something that's more in line with the design principles of 2015/2016.

It's pretty decent app that does what it's supposed to. However, it could look better with a material interface & for convenience, phones compatible with NFC, could have a feature that lets you check the balance of credit on your Gold Card.

I'm not a frequent user the Gautrain.. I use in Three four times a month. It would be really convenient if I could check my Balance on this app. It would allow me to plan my times

On a weekend, I wanted to consult the time table for a weekday. Impossible. I select Monday and select timetable and it gives me the current timetable indicating when the next train is due to leave the selected station. The train times and number of trains (4 or 8 car trains) on the app does not correlate to the actual info displayed at the station. The app displays that at a certain time it is an 8-car train but when I get to the station it is a 4-car train which is irritating especially during peak hours on the north-south line.

I think it's a great app, but it could use one more feature. How about you add a feature allowing to check our card's credit? I shouldn't have to go into the station to find out hoe much I have left.

If you could also include a option to check the funds available, for not so frequent users. And an option to top up online

Great Application but if Gautrain App developer's could add a NFC tag feature to read balances on our mobile phones could boost the App to a 5 Star rating...When I place the card under my phone it says NFC not supported...Please enable a feature like this.

This app looks like a gingerbread app from 2011. It time to get with a streamlined material design look. If you don't know what that means then please visit Google's app design website

No alerts about trains being delayed due to power problems. Alerts not coming through.

Not bad. Timing is accurate. More information on buses would be nice. Which bus goes where. And please improve the bus tracker function. Its very slow.

Useless app. Doesnt have any valid info, golden tickets does not get registered so in the case of a lost ticket bye bye moola. Tickets can only be checked at stations (seen people stuck at bus stations numorous times. NOT USER FRIENDLY

I don't know what I would do without this app.
