Aer Lingus App for Android
Just went through the entire process of trying to book a flight only for the app to immediately crash on pressing submit. Total waste of time.
Slow and annoying, and doesn't integrate with Wear. If you need your boarding pass, turn off WiFi or it'll take two minutes to agonise over not having internet.
Disappointed! I booked a trip then downloaded the app and it can't find my trip info
Not able to pay for flights on the app after the update. Defeats the object of having the app. Please fix. Thanks.
They improved the app a lot! Nice.
Terrible app
Great for looking up flights. Tried to book my flight 5 times and was told every time to use a 16 digits. I gave up and decided not to book..
Use all the time and generally a useful app. Would like Tier points to update at same time as the website but that's being picky
I think Aer Lingus is good but you can get cheaper flights to Dublin if you use Ryanair
Other than not having PayPal as a payment option, the app works well
App crashed when trying to check-in for flight with sufficient data and Wi-Fi. Chose to fly Aer Lingus over RyanAir for comfort and convenience. Having to wait to check-in at the airport is no help. Giving this app a second chance after being stranded at an airport without having screenshotted my boarding pass and no internet. There are so many capable app developers in Ireland that can assure the app would work as necessary. Employ them, and make this app less about how little you can pay people to make a basic app, to pass as "mobile-friendly" and more about how to provide an actual 4* airline service; from booking;to check-in, to boarding.
Useless app, no boarding pass issued after check in and no possibility of retrieving it. Why offer the option of online check in if I have to go to the desk anyways??
What about take action instead of apologize?? It's been over a year now, at least for me, and it keeps failing! Can't even see the boarding pass. So what's the purpose of this app?? Even Ryanair app is better!
So initially managed to find my flight and then check in. Paid extra for reserved seats. As soon as it's confirmed the app can't find any reference to my reservation making it totally useless. Will now have to print out a boarding pass and go back to the stone age killing trees!! Even Ryan air has a working app with QR codes.
Downloaded and opened my boarding pass, on way to airport that app would not open again or remember any of the check in or username details, now I will have to cue to get a boarding pass and may miss my flight. Doubt they would refund me. Don't do It!!!
Truly sad app! Second time it really let me down! This time I nearly missed my flight. I checked in as usual, made sure that I downloaded a png image of the boarding pass. The app logged me out (as usual) but when I logged in, it refused to display the boarding pass and the downloaded backup image was nowhere to be found. Aer Lingus have made it into my 'avoid' box along with Ryanair. Well done, AL, we (the passengers) do not need any extra stressors when we're flying, thanks! The developer feedback is completely unhelpful – the flight I nearly missed was out of Glasgow. In any event, if an airport/route requires a printed boarding pass, then the app should disallow online or app check-in and inform the passenger.
Not bad but I've found that if you close the app after checking in you can't get your virtual boarding pass back, not what you want when you're trying to get on a plane! Also I think it should retain your most recent trip until you enter a new one Not sure I understand your response.. Surely the whole idea of having an app is to make it easier than navigating to the website in the browser, in any case your website doesn't seem to be optimised for mobiles. Not sure what you mean by "your app should be available there". And to be clear, I did re-enter my family name and reference but I still couldn't get my boarding pass.
Login does not work, again. I tried resetting password and still no luck. Getting frustrated with aerlingus, the website does the same, f2f his is one of many times we count on your services and they make us crazy. The day I get issues boarding with your app it will be the last time I f my with Aerlingus. What a joke!
Nothing is worse is than relying on a facility that let's you down when you need it most. Checked in online. Went to the app to download my boarding pass for mobile use at check-in only to told boarding pass cannot be issued. Unreliable.
Embarrassing really. It is now essential to carry a printed B/pass. Look at the easyjet app for some inspiration.
Obviously Aer Lingus are not doing anything about the problems with this App as the same issues are appearing over & over again. No boarding pass available???? Thia app should be making travel easier....not more stressful. Not a happy aer lingus customer.
Why does this app need to know my location.. I paid for the flight stop trying to sell my data
It actually worked for viewing my boarding pass, couldn't join the club as this field for entering my phone details doesn't work ! Sounds like this app is very unreliable.
Useless, Since the connection I used has been canceled, the application has become useless. Good bye Aer Lingus.
This app is pretty useless as it does not keep my log in and flight details. Uninstalling, should copy ryan air and other apps that work.
Worst app ever. Didn't work at airport. Don't waste your time with this.
Worst airline app I've ever used. Boarding pass disappeared just before boarding and impossible to redownload. Had to ask boarding agent to write one with pen and paper. Completely unreliable!
App is working again and now I have my flight and boarding pass. It seems it was temporary glitch. Fast response also from Aer Lingus.
Consistently fails to pick up my trips. I can enter manually and check in. Really Aer Lingus need to up their game, but to be fair they are improving.
Big pile of shite. Thankfully I had a printed boarding pass with me. Don't rely on this piece of garbage.
worst airline app ive ever used deleted after 5mins cant edit flight website also terrible slow and too much junk will never use aerlingus again goodbye
App kept saying check in not available despite less than 24 hrs to flight. Had to log onto website to check in. Not great experience, you would think it would be sending alerts time to check in but didn't even allow you to when it's time
Always says that im not connected to internet , even when i am.so have to go to main website. .will try uninstalling and installing again but have never been able to use it. .waste of time and memory
Multi city trips cannot be handled via the app! Seriously? What year is it? Can't remember when I last had to print a boarding pass, make trips as inconvenient for customers as possible, please. Of course download via passbuk or similar is not available either... *Uninstall app*
DO NOT USE THIS APP! It gave me the wrong flight time, causing me to miss my original flight and connections. Aer lingus support were very unhelpful, and I'm out of pocket >$300 as a result of this.
Check in option not available. It keeps saying "check-in not available" even within last 24 hours before flight. I've deleted and re-installed app 3 times. Same issue with another phone i have (iPhone)
Pointless app. Every flight I check says "we are unable to process your request at this time" It's been saying this for weeks regardless of the location and date I insert.
This app won't let you check in using a passport card. Now I have to try and get to the airport early to check in there. Very annoyed right now.
This app is unreliable. I have been several times in a stressful situation where just before boarding, the app crashed and it was not possible to get my boarding pass.

I don't know what others are saying here but I haven't come across any problems. Maybe just be a little bit clearer in the baggage selection area where there should be an explanation on what you are selecting, because I thought I understood and it turned out I did not and was asked to pay for extra luggage on the day of my first flight. I have just booked another flight and I still don't know if I paid enough money so I will be bringing €80 just in case I need to pay for one extra bag again. Other than that, no real issues.
